There s no way we are going to buy Jackson Martinez if his buyout clause is 40 million. Porto just bought him last year so they don't need to sell.

I have just donated 50 pounds. But there is a caveat. I want that money to go to Rob so he can get a luxury suite rather than sitting with the plebes, like us. Although if he wishes, he can spend it on a Lear Jet or a diamond encrusted pimp hat. Don't care as long as it is a big ticket item. I hate to think our supreme leader is stealing us blind for something mundane.

I think today is the annual ITK away day so they're all on a team bonding exercise in a conference centre in Slough. POTL has done a presentation on how not to use colours too much in your ITK, JJ and BEN have been falling into each other's arms as part of a trust exercise, and Noodles and Peanut are making pictures out of pasta shells.

Akqayid is, presumably, cleaning the toilets.

Akqayid is in the back shed bumming a really really happy Adam Suter.

Can anyone tell me where we are with 'Lookslikemodric', he's said a few things over on our sister site ( ) about Paulinho being done except for a release date being set as long as a mystery agent doesn't stick his oar in (shouldn't do but never know with S American deals). Says no other club can come in now & we attempting to minimise agent fees.

Buyout clauses are there as a deterrent more than anything but I still suspect that they'd accept lower amounts if they felt it was right.

The bigger issue with us targeting Martinez is that surely Porto don't need to sell after Monaco poured their oil money all over them for Moutinho and Rodriguez.

I hope this isn't another case of AVB and Levy having wildly different opinions on who we should be targeting.

Actually I think Porto use them as a way of placating a player when a big club comes in for them. They just tell the player "don't worry if that match your release clause we will sell you" and it stops players kicking off because they can't get their dream moves. It is the equivalent of us giving Bale a 200 million release clause and saying "don't worry Gareth, if Madrid want you they will meet the price". If you look at the release clauses they seriously over value the player but they know that they won't have player handing in transfer requests when their greedy little agents are saying "wait it out, if they buy you at that price we can demand a signing on fee and also claim our loyalty bonuses from Porto too", so it strengthens Porto's hand in negotiations.

My mate works for the company that runs the Spurs website and apparently there is/was going to be a big announcement at 2pm.

Just tried to check now, but the site is down.... (403 Forbidden). Hmmmmmm.

I have no idea if this is something boring and trivial and purely an announcement relating to the site (like a new website) layout, or if it's something more exciting.

Now that we have Baldini and AVB is going in to his second season, I'm hoping that AVB's opinion will carry much more weight and that Levy will interfere a lot less.
