I've just bumped into Forlan at Roggerio's on Putney high street. He went for the mega breakfast, the same as I. He said he was pleased as he put pen to paper with Spurs the day before and was on route to Heathrow for his flight home.

Id say Ryan Giggs was Hopkins.

Forlan would be James Toney.

After the Roy Jones Jr 1 fight Hopkins was written off much like Forlan at utd.

Then he beat Felix Trinidad and most casual boxing fans started to take notice (unlike me who knew he was an amazing technical boxer) much like when Forlan left Utd to go Villareal and has been banging in goals winning cups and breaking records.

Giggs is a Roberto Duran IMO.

Parker - Football Writers' Player of the Year?

this is true, however most of the fleet street sports hacks are west ham fans and the rest appear to be arsenal and chelsea fans (hence the daily hate mail's "exclusives")

i read that Parker single handedly kept them up......

I wish Brian Woolnough would shut his stupid face, how can anyone take him seriously when he writes for the daily star. Again just a pathetic attempt to re-ignite the Modric story, maybe we should remind him of Barry and Tevez.

So what have Parker and Friedel won?

Its not about what they won as in medals, its about their mentality, attitude and what they'd bring to our SQUAD, the win is that they'd give their all when needed.

Same cup we loved to win a few season ago? The same cup we had a hard-on for ?
Funny you should say that as a lot of people rubbish that win now, and seem to conviently over look it seeing that it was won by that **** Ramos. That win in 08 is 50% of our trophy haul since the inception of the PL.

Exactly. Hence in my eyes far from worthless.

This kind of post usually results in a ban.

Unless you can verify it as true? No? Then please wind it in and appreciate that information was shared in good faith from a believable source yesterday by a respected member. Whether you believe the info is one thing but what you've posted there is offensive to the integrity of a fellow poster and it should stop there. Any other questions, feel free to PM a mod (that goes for anyone else, too).

So what have Parker and Friedel won?

To add to the ever-growing list above, I suspect Friedel has won more Premier League matches than any other active goalkeeper.

Not something to be sniffed at.

I'm not sure what mentality Parker brings? Most of the teams he has played for seem to be characterized by underperformance.

Not really that difficult when he is aged 40 ffs......

If Gomes plays people will put every goal he concedes under intense scrutiny before declaring 'could have done better.......makes the outstanding saves but no good at the easier stuff'

With Friedel every goal we concede will immediately be down to his age.

It's guaranteed to be one of next seasons big whingelights.
