Investec?

My first post was ITK from Biatch.

But in my opionin we could go with Investec again if the info a few weeks ago is correct, about a big new stadium/shirt double deal has not happened. This is my opionin thou not from Biatch.
Would make sence as they did renew last year for a extra year. Mayb DL is keeping them untill he can get a new stadium/shirt double sponsor.

Wouldn't stop them. There's no rules preventing them sponsoring clubs and refs, I believe. Plus, as I mentioned when there was ITK on this a couple of weeks ago (which, very nearly - but let's be honest, doesn't - make this worthy of discussion here), I pointed out that Tune Group could sponsor as themselves (Refs), AirAsia (QPR) or AirAsiaX (us), for example. AirAsiaX is their long haul service and therefore theoretically more relevant for us anyway.

But, the point is, I'm pretty sure a sponsor can cover more than one club, and certainly match officials at the same time.

I keep looking at their site and see the headline "Tune Group Join The Premier League". Match officials ok, but it's not really joining as such, although I do understand aligning it to a top product like the PL which can also be a generic term. Did they mean QPR last season? - I don't think so. Leads me to think they are certainly interested in getting involved somewhere, with somebody.

I really don't like the amount of red though, but it is their lucky (and corporate) colour. Have to say the logo is pretty dodge too, but I suppose a version of the same thing worked for Virgin. I wouldn't like a giant Tune or even Air Asia plastered across our shirts in red in that handwriting at all. :( Naffsville. Whether we like Emirates, Quatar, etc etc, the thing that they have in common is a quite classy logo.

Don't personally see the benefit of sponsoring a team when your logo will already be on every televise match and highlights package on the refs shirt. Commercially smacks of over egging the mix a bit

I suppose you have to consider, is it better to have your brand associated with various levels of masturbatory-related abuse aimed at its wearer's presence, or displayed on the shirts of a team who might win a trophy or at least a few matches to bask in some reflected glory? ;)

Again agree...but as they are sponsoring the officials appers they have thrown their lot in with the chaps of questionable parentage who may of may not (performance dependent) partake of a littlle onanism

Nah... this feels different somehow... I think we've got something proper in the pipeline. I'm more convinced things are going to go our way this TW, rather than just having blind hope before.

Nah, last year it was a load of Akqayid fuelled hubris that we were gonna raise a fortune one way or another & were gonna step up with our mega sponsor bankrolling us to the promised land.
This year, a few rumblings that Levy hasn't got a sponsor sorted yet.

Probably wrong thread but it's kind of player related. Don't think the players are back yet - maybe some will be just starting to return. I know it's kind of crap, but if there is to be a big new sponsor/kit/player announcement then UA/sponsor would want at least Bale or some other (new :whistle:) players in the photos?

I don't think it's necessarily going to be a 'big' sponsor deal on the shirts btw.

Sounds like we were trying to do a deal linking the naming rights of the stadium and the shirt sponsorship, but that fell through meaning we're probably aiming for a relatively short-term shirt deal until we're a bit more concrete on when the stadium is actually going to be built.

Think they could just photoshop on the sponsor logo afterwards mate...in fact I have a recollection of that happening before but maybe imagining it

Sponsors may view the Bale situation as a double-edged sword. While I'm sure companies would love to be a part of the Bale craze, to sign a long-term deal with us, knowing that Bale could realistically be gone within a year or two may turn them off a bit. It comes down to if they believe that if Bale should leave in the not-too-distant future that we could remain competitive and still be a popular club.

Obviously we've got all the faith in the world in our club, but from an outsider's perspective, you can understand some trepidation.

A bit more from Billy White on COYS re sponsorship

To answer a few of the questions on here:

Autonomy has expired;

The combined shirt/stadium sponsorship deal that was the initial hope meant that the company would pay a fee to sponsor our shirt and would then get some sort of a deal on the stadium naming rights when it came time for it;

Also - no further updates on the matter from my end - doesn't mean that things aren't happening though.

i've made a sponsorship offer via the "contact us" tab on the official site.

i've suggested the use of that well known stationary retailer Pen Island.
the shirt would read www.penisland.com

:whistle: lets see who has a dirty mind.
