Begovic came for a medical, and in doing so, bumped into Pletikosa coming out of his own medical. Pissed off that we were seemingly going for other keepers, he fucked off up North.

Snarf, I really don't think Negredo is the answer, he has failed to push on in the past 3 years. I do t think his aerial ability would do much in the PL, and the rest of his game isn't good enough for us. Too inconsistent, and patchy finishing.

Soldado on the other hand, I've long thought would be immense for us

Osvaldo at Roma looks class too.

I'm actually worried about Arsenal getting Yann M'villa. He's a damn-good player that gets shit because he's a douchebag. He should fit in absolutely perfectly with Wilshere. They can do lines of blow out of each other's belly-buttons. Best friends forever!

Why anybody really expects Levy to shell out £20m+ on a player in Jan when we are 3rd is quite simply off there rocker!!

Were you talking about this January, last January the one before that or the one before the one before that?
Levy is the last person who would invest while the going's good.

Cheers for the info but where does the connection between him and QPR come from? First time I am hearing it today ...

That said I can't keep up. I am having a hard enough time trying to figure our what JJ says and has said.

I find it beneficial to my temperament, not to mention my Heart, Liver and Lungs, to not bother trying to keep up with all the tattle or pin my hopes of World domination on the information provided by ITK.

It's fun to speculate just so long as you don't expect, and we've been linked with so many players, in the past, that I'm kind of numb to any of this.

This outlook on ITK may just be the reason why I'm 44 but look 22!

is it too much to ask that we sign moutinho and leandro in the next couple of days, tv showing them watching from the stands against QPR and then straight into the first XI with fryers on the bench and then the former controlling midfield and the latter scoring a brace with bale knocking in one more for good measure... gallas tripped and allowed rvp to score 1. we lead 3-1, injury time, zeki fryers replaces benoit to riotous reception....

in your face fergie!

edit: they get 15 mins fergie time injury time, rvp scores 1 more to bring the score to 3-2, but in the last 5 mins of fergie time injury time, bale and azza scored one more each during counter attacks, and leandro added one more, dribbling past scholes carrick rio and evra who were all on the floor with cramps.

i know i know...

Interesting McCarthy to Arsenal doing the rounds - Never thought he stood out?

Just what they need to shore up a lightweight midfield imho

A few points about Damiano, some of which have already been said here:

He is only worth a $25m+ fee (ie £15-20m) based upon 'potential', not based upon his current scoring stats in the top Brazilian league. His full international scoring record (not including olympic football, which is basically u23s) is poor. His not currently an international for Scolari, and has no furum to change this status over the next 6 months of Brazilian regional league games. Thus nothing can be done to increase his current value in the forseable future.

Moreover at almost 24 he is not even a 'youth prospect' anymore. He either makes an instant splash in Europe now, or any buyer will struggle to give him the normative 2 years needed to adapt and then prove himself in Europe, and for him to be young enough (26 and under) for a super-club to invest a profit yeilding fee in him, which justifies a club like us investing the kind of 'potential' fee that they seem to think he is worth.

Internacional have the biggest wage bill in the history of Brazian football, too many forwards, and no Libitardores (champ league equivilent) football to support it.

Damiano if he stays now will be staying only for 2014 world cup whereupon he has only 1 more year left on his contract and even if he somehow makes the Brazil team his value shrinks at that point.

His 'high water mark' for value was post-Olimpics where we would have gone to £18m down to £22m on variables. This is clearly likely to reduce every window from now as there is simply no realistic forum for him to display that he is worth more. (If he scores at goal a unprecidented rate of goal a game in the Brazilian league in 7 months time, it is concievable, but a realistic assessment of his talents and those of his current team-mates to support them make this a scenario that International are unlikely to plan for or expect.)

Internacional are now full owners of the player, despite what the media are reoprting. This means they are primed for a sale.

In short, I think we will get him for £15m+ 2-3m in extras/or perhaps with Gomes worked into the deal.

Thanks what a great post!
