just a thought too. why can't we just buy mouts and loan him back to porto for their champs league campaign and just recall him when it's done?

Just picked this up from the Zaha thread @BroadcastMoose
Now for the old Wilfred Zaha situation - I've heard this afternoon he'll move this Jan to another London club and no it isn't West Ham Utd

I wasn't told which London club, but like all of you could make an educated guess, with Arsenal reportedly not in running, I'm guessing Spurs

If we were to get Moutinho I think we'd want him in and up for selection straight away

I'm trying to think of other striker options and it's a position so devoid of available talent.

Obviously there is Damiao. He's no sure-shot to contribute quickly. The learning curve will be steep.

Dieumerci Mbokani is another one. Everything screams 'meh,' so it all makes sense now. But, he is awesome in FIFA.

Alvaro Negredo might be an option. He's a good option as a CF who can actually challenge in the air, something that we really haven't seen much of out of our CFs this season apart from Ade's goal against Reading.

Roberto Soldado is a dream of mine. But, he turned us down once.

And Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang is all Emo on Levy right now. Maybe AVB can talk to him and smooth things over - working that same Portuvoodoomagic that he did on Holtby?

Personally, I'd settle for any striker capable of making a near post run.

Our strikers certainly seem unwilling or unable to do so. Such a waste of Bale's dangerous crosses into the box

Looking forward to Lampard Giggs and Scholes lining up a 433 at United next year. Maybe get Beckam back to play in the wing as well.

But as for our targets and ITK, I'm hoping we sort out Ade or sort out a replacement for him.

So Ferguson is supposed to be alleging that we bid 5 million for a player for whom they wanted 6 million at a tribunal? When tribunals rarely - if ever - rule that the 'selling' club should get all it wants? When one tribunal settled on 800k for Bostock when Palace wanted 5 million?

He does know that Daniel Levy, and not Peter Ridsdale, is our Chairman doesn't he? Who the hell does he think is going to believe that?

Performance appraisals are the blanket of security against employees looking to scam the company of paid-for production. A couple of poor performance appraisals in most companys would see the instigation of a process of dismissal.
Footballers can have their cake and eat it though. As has been said before the standards of professionalism within football, and many other pro sprts probably, are ridiculously low. You'd expect better from most toddlers tbh. Players and clubs really.

Having said that, I think most footballers are good professionals and good people. Which is to their credit considering the almost absolute power they seem to yield these days and the scope for piss-taking they have. I guess that's why, even among the super rich clubs, only 2 or 3 are genuine powerhouses yr in and yr out. They actually have standards and make sure they are adhered to continually.

how good is Togo? can they go far? I'm sure if Defoe or Dempsey get a knock we have a plan D striker ready to sign for cheap.
