We're so poor technically.

The lack of freedom in the system isn't helping our play. Every player is occupying the same position at all times. No rotation between players or overloading a certain area.

But I swear that wasn't the case last season.

Up until the goal, we were marginally the better team and playing with a bit of purpose and energy. I’ve no issues with the goal - Edwards is unplayable sometimes and it was right off the post - but the moment they scored, Sporting adapted into control-mode, keeping possession with ease and keeping a disciplined shape.

The problem is that we lost energy completely and started popping the ball in and out of defence to no great purpose and with virtually no ideas. There’s been no pressing whatsoever - why not?

Lucas was fine when there was space, but now that’s gone and he can’t keep the ball (plus he is still a step short of pace and his game depends on it).

We need Kulusevski back urgently and a creative player to put some zip into our passing.
Sorry David, but I think there were alot of issues with the goal.

Well that was fucking pathetic. You’d think we were already qualified to the last 16 and were 4-nil up in this game the way we are passing sideways and backwards. No movement, no urgency, no leadership, no fucking clue. Just pathetic.

You can't tell me that new players will fix this.

And you can't tell me that this group of players cant up the intensity....

Play with tempo ffs.

Conte has to address this immediately. Its gone on long enough now.

Up the tempo and actually get after the opponent...not tap it about at pedestrian pace.

2nd best all over the park - we’re a much better side than this lot but we’re nowhere near it atm

Need a positive, aggressive 2nd 45 mins or it could get Messi

This is awful.

Our last few games I’ve been in here trying to pick out positives and suggest how we can get back into it. Even I can’t do that here.

That was turgid, kickabout in the park stuff. No energy, no intention, I can’t actually tell you what we’re trying to do, Though to be honest, it could be said that the main thing we aren’t doing is trying.

I feel sorry for the likes of Spence and Sarr. I get it, the manager see’s them everyday and doesn’t think they’re ready - but how demoralising must it be to go to the game knowing you’ve got basically no chance of getting to play unless it’s to take up the last couple of minutes?

We just don’t look interested at all. The only consistent performance tonight has been whoever keeps throwing paper planes at corner takers.

Just utterly boring, dire, shit football. I’m considering not even watching the second half as I’ve mostly been looking anywhere but the screen for the first half. Christ knows how we keep a straight face when charging the ticket prices we do.

I just really, really dont get it. It’s like no one can be remotely arsed.

I’d go back 4. Conte won’t btw. Give Gil some minutes. He’ll probably fall over a lot but might just give us a minute of magic. Can’t be any worse than Son, Moura, Peresic.
Who would you play in a back 2? Dier is no good in a 2, Davies neither, so Romero and Lenglet?

No creativity, no urgency, no pressure, no movement, no quick passes.

Slow, sideways and backwards passing again all half. We are becoming unwatchable.
Anytime we up the speed of the pass we lose it almost immediately, no-one can control the ball or play a precision pass. I know I’m talking about the 2 mins of the 45 we did up the speed, but the team is pathetic slow and at speed, Son was woeful, gave them 2 or 3 chances on the break, Davies likes to fly forward but the moment he gets the ball he’s useless, Doherty was the only one I seen able to control the ball anytime we upped the speed. Shockingly bad half.

I'm normally pretty sanguine to be honest but today I'm fuming.
My 8 year old grandson has gone tonight his first live game at White Hart Lane, he's been so excited and they've dished up this crap for him.
It's like we like to counter attack but Sporting won't attack so we're stumped!

Half are pressing, half are sat back, get Bissouma on and all 3 midfielders need to press, not sure what’s happened to our midfield but it’s not working

Got a free executive lounge ticket for tonight. After Sunday. I’ve decided I’m just going to enjoy the experience.

and the free food
……And drink
Mini. Burgers. Chicken bites. And a beer waiting for me at half time. The excitement is palpable.

Too many average players in the team. So much work to do in the transfer market. We could replace 5 first team players really and probably need to.

He's been the only one who has shown any skill. The rest have played like kids in the park.
just because he has been less shit than the others, doesn't make him great. a player only gets to be on the ball so much. the input they provide off it, whether attacking or defending, is hugely relevant when assessing their performance. and again, he shouldn't be accountable to the same standard someone like Ben Davies is. so, yes, decent, got on the ball two or three times well dropping deep and finding outlets but it's still short and far from what a good Kane performance looks like. even on their goal, it's Bentancur that tries to put pressure on Sporting's centerback as Kane is jogging about without even being able to close down the passing lane through the middle on his side that eventually led to the advantage Sporting created against our backline.
