Welcome to the Southampton Vs Spurs Match Thread! COYS!

We want to bring the joy back into match days as these threads have just become full of over the top from at least a handful of posters. While we understand and have the same frustrations on the team and the performances the constant beating on the same players for just being picked is tiresome the same with going over how we didn't get more players in during the transfer window. We would rather not limit peoples access to this thread, so please before you hit post just read your post back...

STREAMING SITES

We cannot allow the posting of links to Streaming sites/apps and as a result of that do not allow posts asking for them as they invariably result in someone posting a link. Please do NOT hint at having, post or ask for links to streaming sites. The latest 'clever' way around this is to drop hints. That'll have to stop too I'm afraid as again, it results in people posting links.

My team for the match:

Forster
Romero - Dier - Lenglet
Porro - PEH - Skippy - Davies
Richy - Kane - Danjuma

I know it won't happen, but I want to see Sonny come off the bench again. Richy has to start, he's been a beast lately.

Full weeks prep. They’ve played tonight. No excuses. 3 points.

EDIT - Crushing 2-0 defeat at home too. Morale should be low for them.

They are bottom of the league and played this eve

if this was any other team you’d be expect a routine professional win. Hell they might even have fun and smack them for six.

we sit here wondering if it’s dr Tottenham (a loss). Kane papers I’ve the cracks (a 2-0 win) or we do what we are supposed to do, and win comfortably controlling the game.

these banana skins, by the fact I view this as a JWP free kick bananana skin, is why I’m personally in the conte out club.

Have to play like how we did in the first half against Wolves. My worry with any away game we play is if we let them control proceedings too much thus allowing the crowd to get increasingly behind them and all of a sudden it's a real battle.

We've had a few good away results in the league this season, but so few convincing performances to accompany.

We're playing the bottom side who lost again last night, we have had a week to prepare and a win will put us 3rd.
We ought to be cock-a-hoop about our chances yet nobody feels confident of getting a result and that perfectly illustrates where we are and what's been done to us this season and that's why this has been a god awful season.
I'm hoping we can salvage our sanity in the run in and that starts with a thumping of Southampton on Saturday.

I would say we are not in good away form at the moment. Before the losses against Leicester and Wolves we had the third best away form in the league with good wins away to Brighton, Palace, and Fulham.

Totally agree - but a win takes us third and yet most including myself think it’s been a season to forget.…….such is the mysterious conundrum that is Tottenham Hotspur in 2023

PS no doubt a lot of that dissatisfaction is down to the nightMariah prospect of the goons winning the league from nowhere

Just don't give away any free kicks within shooting distance.
I seem to remember Dier backing off Ward-Prowse in a dangerous area, giving him plenty of space to rifle a shot into the top corner! If we avoid that and like you say, silly free kicks then we should be fine :cautious:

Odds on Romero kicking a player in the air right outside the box after 30 seconds.

We need a performance like Villa or Norwich away last season, ruthless in front of goal and don't let up. We could do with a big win to get our goal difference up.

This should be a comfortable win. Were enough to not let them get their confidence up so I'm expecting a 2 or 3 nil win.

I wish I had your confidence :D We have the capability to make any game difficult. We also have the capability to do as you say but my concern is that I can imagine either happening in equal measures.

I think this is the sort of game where is being boring and negative helps.

They're at home and desperate for a win so will play right into our hands.
