Can see why the league struggles playing Sheffield. Very big, strong, high energy press, they get Lots of people back defending quickly and it's very organized

It's very hard to break their line as there isn't space for cutting through balls unless you have much quicker players.
You probably do need a dembele just to glide past a couple players to pull them out of position

They look like a rugby league team

The last few games I think Kane has looked the sharpest I’ve seen him all year . We are just not giving him any service

Sheffield United have been very impressive. They defend and attack as a unit so well. Hard to notice unless you are at the ground

I don't think it's been as bad as others are making out. This was never going to be a walk in the park against this lot. They are very well coached, but thus far they've lacked that quality cutting edge. I think we just need to be patient and our quality could shine though.

Tactically i'd switch Dier and Sanchez around and maybe we should consider Winks for Sissoko soon, their midfield is workmanlike but not particularly physically strong and Winks could help us to get out.

Yes they are organised but look at the players at our disposal ffs, this has been another piss poor performance & things aren’t changing results wise in the league, slipping down further and further

Another performance from a Pochettino side that is tactically inept, with him offering no direction from the bench. Who would believe it...
Didn't the players once wax lyrical about Poch's incredible attention to detail? Nowadays we always look completely unprepared for every team we're up against whereas they have clearly pinpointed and exploited all of our glaring weaknesses.

Signs of improvement but SU press very well and that combined with conditions are causing errors. Like what I've seen of Lo Celso so far.

Sheff U on paper - dogs dinner
Spurs on paper - top 4

Performance - vice versa.

Christ that was drab, nothing from Son, Kane or Alli. Once again we’re reliant on our full backs for width yet they’re both rooted in 1st gear.

Get Sess on for Alli and go 433 with Lo Celso behind Kane.

- Aurier not linking up with Lo Celso fluidly, right hand side is crowded as others are drawn in to compensate.

- Dier having a poor game on the ball.

- Dele slowing down play as the ball seems to bounce off his feet half the time.

-Tanguy having a shocker if we’re honest.

I don't know if kanes movement is lacking or not but we are so slow to get the ball in and around him that they always have numbers back, cant remember the last time we actually tried to hit him early

Lucas and winks are very rarely the answer to a question I feel
Allis is a passenger.
The ball is getting locked into our own half because we don't have a CM on the pitch who can drop in, pick the ball up and give it to our creative players. Whatever you think about winks, he's a lot better at that than sissoko.

Doesn’t the first paragraph remind you of how we used to be?

Sissoko off for winks
Alli off for lucas

The problem is transitioning the ball from defence to midfield to attack, definitely need a defender who can pass on and possibly Winks to keep the ball moving, not sure Alli for Lucas change would do anything, in fact it would probably make things worse.

You can point at all areas. Defence are struggling to move the ball, but the midfield are not really showing for it (and NDombele looks crocked after that early knock), and Son/Alli/Kane up top have been dismal, even if they are feeding off scraps there is minimal effort and just fuckaboutery when they do get it.

But it is not helped by what we do every week tactically. Trying to progress the ball with 5 players at the back and the other 5 stood up front waiting for the ball to come to them, big void between those two units. An organised press, as we have seen time after time, season after season, and we look massively lacking in ideas as to how to move the ball up the pitch and then several of our players propensity for taking an extra touch or five stands out even more.

All looks a bit flat, maybe so many of them playing midweek is causing that, who knows, but they've got to go out and roll their sleeves up and earn the right to play and hopefully get the result.
