Also Man.U & Southampton. We had some big wins under Jose, as you say, shame we reverted to type and went so defensive under him and his general man management wasn’t great, he didn’t treat bale and some others very well and the group never felt particularly United.

I think he’s have won us a cup if he’d got the chance to Manage that final though.

He'd turned on the players and started calling them out in public and letting him manage the final would have been all wrong imo. We were never in with a sniff in that match anyway and I think Mourinho got himself sacked to avoid being in charge of it.

My, how we have suffered. I think people are looking back at Jose with slightly rose-tinted spectacles, while Conte is still very raw. By the end, the situation was toxic under Jose and I agree he had to go for the final. He should have gone long before.

Yes, Jose had a little more charm and seemed to be on our side more, but it was still just as terrible. A race to the bottom if you ask me.

Such a waste of Harry.

Incidentally, I don't blame Levy, the players or the club for Conte. I blame us. We were mad keen on him and it was us who would have gone crazy if we'd got rid at the right time i.e. during the World Cup.

I blame Levy for not sacking Jose sooner and what came after, which was chaos and the disastrous Nuno. But Conte is on us. I also credit Levy with getting Ange in, despite us. That was a masterstroke and shows what the fans want is not always what's best for the club. Ange is the polar opposite of Conte.

I blame Levy for that. The lack of a clear club strategy and philosophy is on him. Lurching from one style of manager to another and big name to big name is on him. Seems like that's been addressed now

Disagree on the last part. Agree on the first part.

There are coaches out there, highly rated and respected ones at that, who have systems in which incorporating players like Maddison, Bissouma and Sarr is an impossibility.

I'll take whichever coach doesn't have a system like that tbh, whatever their name might be. Getting to a final is another tick.

Perhaps change title to who did a better job 'on' us

... and then close it. And set fire to it just in case

Have these quotes made it into this thread? Sums up Conte perfectly. Only wants to join a team where someone else has done all the hard work for him. He's an utter fraud of a coach and got massively exposed at Spurs.

I’d have liked it if you turned us into a team that’s recently won too, Antonio. You were certainly paid enough to do so.

Such a strange bloke. Would have every sympathy for his time here if he showed an ounce of decency back to the fans/players/club, but it seems he’s just fundamentally a bit of a knobhead. Mad how Mourinho, a much more successful and revered manager, shows us more respect than this wiggy clown.

Both terrible picks for Spurs. I try not to remember those days where I ended up not really caring and although I watched every game it was through habit. It felt like being back in the 90s at times I was that down on Spurs.
Head says Conte because he hit 4th. Heart says fuck Conte because he didn't give a fuck about the club or the fans, it was all about him.

Disappointed with that dig. Thought he had better EQ than that. Oh well.. At least we know every increasing day with Big Ange starts to show every increasing ounce of limitation Conte has.

Still respect Mourinho more.
