presumably you wouldnt remember much of the 82 or 84 cup wins as you would have been too young? I was born in 75 and the 81,82 & 84 cups wins were massive for me as a young kid so I would definitely say that was the better era for me. I honestly thought it would be totally normal that Spurs would win trophies every other year for as long as i lived at that point :ROFLMAO:

There's no doubt the '60s, then '80s were Spurs most successful decades. Then 2010s are the most competitive we've been since the '80s without the trophies to show for it.

Yours is better than it looks, you've called 88/89 89/90 and missed the latter when we finished third:

I'm 1994 to 2004, both of you beat me

Unless you value the 1999 Worthington Cup over the Poch years, of course!

Was too young to really appreciate Klinsmann, my first game was feb 1996. Highlights of that time:

I loved Iversen and Allan Nielsen. Ginola obviously my favourite of that era.

Enjoyed the klinnsmann return, absolutely loved our 2001-2002 team, was gutred when blackburn pipped us to the trophy. The win over chelsea in the second leg of that semi is probably still my favourite ever game

Similar to me, born in 71 and started supporting Spurs on back of World Cup of 78 and Ossie and Ricky coming to a newly promoted team. The early 80s were fab!

I arrived not long after the UEFA Cup in 84. Riding high on the crest of a wave. 10 years later I was washed up on a sewage-laden beach, caught in a fish net with a rotten seal for company. Ah, Spurs in the 90s. Such fun.

You and me, my son and yours, must be the same age! Difference between the two is, we hardly got to watch much football when we were young. The exposure now is immense to what it was in the 80’s.

Definitely - Pleat was the first manager I remember but mainly from being replaced by Venables.

Guessing that shoot magazine and match of the day, followed by waiting to read a one paragraph match report the following day wasn’t enough exposure in the 80s 😂

My first 10 years of supporting the club spans from the late 80's through to the late 90's which were almost always horrendous.

Nice OP.

First 10 years around 95-2005 so really until Jol came in, aside from a bit of good football and some mid table finishes under Hoddle, Ginola and the Worthington cup win we were an absolute mess for the mostpart.

1994-97 Gerry Francis (not too bad)
1997 - Hughton
1997 - Christian Gross
1998 - David Pleat
1998 - George Graham
2001 - David Pleat
2001 - Hoddle
2003 - Pleat
2004 - Santini
2004 - Martin Jol

First game was a home loss at WHL to Blackburn, Shearer smashed in a hat-trick, I knew then what my old man had signed me up to supporting Spurs :ROFLMAO:

The highlights were a 5-1 cup win against Chelsea, some nice football under Hoddle with his over 40's team, Ginola and when we signed Defoe and Robbie Keane and Jol came in the fun times slowly started but I didn't know any better at the time so enjoyed going to the games for the mostpart anyway but looking back it was a pretty bleak period, especially when Woolwich were winning leagues and going unbeaten and Chelsea were hammering us every match every season and we seemed to have no real strategy.

In 94 I saw that sewage-laden beach and the rotten seal, and thought: this is the team for me

Born in 84 when we won the UEFA Cup but my earliest memories of a trophy would have been in 91. Can't remember much before that. Maybe would go from 1990 as have vague memories of Italia 90 so know I was into football then.

So for me it's the 91 FA cup and 99 League Cup which I went too. Other than that the 90s were pretty grim. We did have some greats though in Sheringham, Klinsmann and Ginola.

Earliest memory of a match was at home to Wimbledon. Can't remember it well though. Just remember being near the front row and when Vinnie Jones came to take a throw my dad shouted "Vinnie you fairy".

My clearest memory of my earliest matches was also versus Wimbledon but away from home in 98. We won 6-2 and Klinsmann got 4. Then the cup final at Wembley was special because we won but the game itself was poor.

I would certainly say supporting spurs in the 00s would be better than the 90s over a 10 year period. Even though we won less.

First game, 1969 away to Arsenal as a 10 year old
All around me, it’s kicking off, frightened the pants off me
League Wins in the seventies and the wolves UEFA cup final
Then getting relegated mid 70s when I used to go home in a way on the soccer specials
Seen the good times seen the bad times of the 90s Since but still love my Tottenham Hotspur as an old geezer now I’m glad my son is in his 30s loves us just as much come on you spurs
