Newcastle boss Steve Bruce talking to Sky Sports: "I can understand why Spurs will go beserk and Roy Hodgson reacted like he did. It is a total nonsense, we should be jumping through hoops but I would be devastated if that was us. Maybe Roy is right, maybe we all need to get together. The decisions are ruining the spectacle. We have to get together as managers and say this must stop.

"If our goalkeeper didn't play as well first half they would have been out of sight. Second half we were better and posed a bit of a threat. Our goalkeeper has got us a point and a decision that went our way."
Well said from Bruce. Can't blame Newcastle they kept in the game. We have ourselves to blame not killing them off and of course the decision was farce

I can only speak for myself but I wont be watching or listening to football, absolutely pointless to do so whilst a rule which so fundamentally breaks the game is still in place. I am powerless to do anything but stop watching and so that is what I will do. I'll come on here and I may read the BBC or whatever's match report but I am done.

I have been having issues with my heart, hence my post on here in the Bale thread about being in hospital. Quite frankly this is bullshit I can do without.

I can understand it. Let’s fly a banner over the FA ?

Fair play to Bruce there calling a spade a spade.

This goes beyond tribal nonsense - this rule is a farce and it needs to be rectified!

We get fucked over even when we don't play. See Chelsea's CL win dumping us out of top 4 after finishing 4th (only for the rule to be changed the season after)

And the scum winning the FA cup meaning we're in this fixture conjestion right now!

We lack players with the ruthlesslness to go for the jugular and destroy teams when we are dominant.
The handball law is rubbish.
In that order.
Disagree, seen plenty of teams struggle to put teams to bed, it's just a typical aspect of the game.

We put 5 past Southampton last week. Last season we beat Leicester, Newcastle by being ruthless and taking the limited chances we had.

I'd also wager that we struggled in the final third later in the game because of tiredness and the amount of games we've been playing.

Their keeper played a blinder though.. but feck var!!! Whatever happened to* deliberate handball
This is it for me. Penalties were brought in to stop people denying goal scoring opportunities by cheating, committing a foul. The hand ball was to stop players altering the flight of the ball by using their arms. You shouldnt get a shot at goal because the ball hits someones arm unintentionally, regardless of the position of the arm.
FIFA keep bringing these dick brain ideas because they think more goals makes it more exciting. Truly naive and frankly clueless philosophy.

Yes it's frustrating that we seem to get so many shitty refereeing issues lately, maybe a backlash against our perceived "luck" in early days of VAR. And yes it's a a disgrace that we hardly ever get penalties awarded, something wrong in the heads of officials wrt Spurs.

BUT, that is out of our control, what is in our control is finishing our (many) chances. Too many games we show a lot of attacking promise but can't consistently make those attacks count. Then we get the odd (half) game where we score loads like against Southampton.

We set ourselves up for something to go wrong at the end by dropping deep and defending like headless chickens.

Bale can change that, let's just hope he can be fit soon.

Just out of interest, if Jose went on a verbal tirade and the FA fined him, what would the repercussions be if he refused to pay it?

Yes, it did happen without VAR. I don't like VAR, but don't pretend like weird decisions didn't happen before VAR. In the end, we should have scored more goals. Too bad Son got injured. Playing with Bergwijn was like playing with 10 men.
Bad decisions were made every now and again, handballs tended not to be given rather than handballs like that being given and never all the time like this, Christ this weekend has been full of them and it will happen even more from now on because teams will train to get the penalties. why bother heading towards goal and have to beat the keeper when you can just nod it onto the arm of a player right next to you?
Even if you were right about Bergwijn Newcastle never got close to even have a shot on goal with him playing so he's not to blame.

We've already been nobbled before we've really got started. Two games with two very harsh decisions. What's the point of even trying to compete when the same shit won't happen to Yanited or Pool.
To be fair... United got fucked last week as hard as any team can in the space of 5 minutes.

Even said to my united mate, "see how you feel now? That's how everyone else felt playing away at old Trafford under fergie."

I think the rules as is are so chaotic quite literally any team is prone to getting absolutely stiffed out of nowhere.

I've never been so fucked off after a football game in my life. Accidentally posting in the ITK thread, the wiring in my brain has exploded
