TEAM FORM: Spurs - LLWWW ----- Newcastle - LWWLW -------
(All Competitions)

We and Newcastle United meet on Sunday afternoon having both recorded a win and a defeat from our opening two Premier League fixtures. While we recorded a 5-2 win at Southampton, Newcastle's three points came from a 2-0 victory at West Ham United on the first weekend of the campaign.

Having found ourselves being troubled by Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Skendija 79 in the Europa League, it is clear that we are far from firing on all cylinders at this stage of the season. Nevertheless, adding the success at Southampton to the list, Jose has now witnessed our side record three successive wins in all competitions. Although there will naturally be concerns regarding the development of our team, Jose will be impressed with the character of our players at a time when the games continue to come thick and fast. We are having to rely on the contributions of Son and harry, who have scored eight of our last 10 goals since the beginning of the season. However, with Gareth Bale still a few weeks away from making his debut, Mourinho will be delighted with the reaction from Son and Harry who are not used to competition for places.

Steve Bruce is hoping for the same reaction at Newcastle with the likes of Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson looking to hold down a place in the final third. The presence of the former Bournemouth duo will have led to Miguel Almiron and Joelinton recognising that they are no longer guaranteed a spot in the starting lineup. Although they netted three of Newcastle's seven goals against Morecambe in the EFL Cup, they may have to bide their time before getting back into the side.

Bruce is under more pressure to find a solution at the back after witnessing the Magpies succumb to a tame 3-0 defeat at home to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend. With some tough-looking fixtures around the corner, the stakes are high as the North-East outfit look to replicate their success at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the beginning of last season.

Despite his return to the starting lineup in midweek, Dele is expected to drop back down to the replacements. Lloris, Doherty, Dier, Lo Celso Lucas and Kane and Kane should all come back into the first XI. Bale remains absent with a knee injury, but Sergio Reguilon may make the substitutes' bench if he overcomes an ankle sprain.

Newcastle boss Bruce has cast doubt over the availability of Jamal Lewis and Allan Saint-Mazimin.
Lewis suffered an eye injury during the closing stages against Brighton, while Saint-Maximin sustained an ankle problem during the same fixture. Matt Richie could have to deputise at left-back.

Newcastle have some players out with injuries:
Schaar. Duvbraka, M. Longstaff, Ciaran Clark. Saint-Maximim is a slightly doubt ahead of Sunday’s game

I can't say I'm upset that Saint-Maximim is a doubt for the game. Although we recently won the game 3-1 during the resumption of the lockdown, if I recall he caused our midfield and defence quite a few problems, and on another day they could and probably should have converted quite a few chances before we scored the second and third goals and the result would have been very different and he was the architect of a few of those decent chances they had, so I wouldn't be sorry to see him sidelined or playing a lesser part in the game.

Reports also on Hojbjerg being out injured after that sickening tackle from Romeu?

Although the Romeu tackle on hojbjerg was nasty, I'm a bit surprised he's out injured seeing as he played the full 90 minutes.

If he is a doubt for tomorrow's game I can't see him being risked because of the other 3 games we have on Tuesday, Thursday and next Sunday.

With the Chelsea game coming up and if hojbjerg is a slight doubt I'd rest him so he can play midweek. Maybe winks and sissoko in. I'd love to see ndombele with hojbjerg and lo celso further up against Chelsea.

11pm ko tonight for me. I may need a Nanna nap.

Has Ndom done enough to get a start? I’m liking the positivity coming from him. Only a few weeks ago I was resigned to swapping him for a turnip, now he’s first on my team sheet?...what a flip flopper!!

No idea at all what to expect from Newcastle to be honest.

Beat a chaotic West Ham away but then spanked at home by a very good Brighton.

I think a lot of the PL is going to be unknowns this season.

Hopefully our fitness keeps stepping up, the group togetherness is improving and we're on it from the off. ?

Thinking Ndoblele rested for this after one after his recent exploits. Sissoko to tear em up, Lo Celso to bamboozle them (please no Winks) with Lamela and Moura rotating left and right, Kane and Son up front, smack those Magpies hard.

See you Dele on Tuesday, I know you love scoring against the Ch£l$ki scum!
