Refuse to accept people think keeping Davinson Sanchez would've somehow satiated everyone. The bloke was literally in tears at the end of last season because of our fans being knobs to him.
Yeah, that wasn’t the answer. We needed another signing.

So we have a really talented and creative player in Donley. But Skipp with 1 goal and 0 assists in like 60 games gets the chance when we need someone creative.

I don't care if he's uproven, he can't be worse than Skipp. And I don't dislike Skipp, its not his fault.

We're kidding ourselves if we think Sanchez is a good option i'm sorry. Sure he's got pace but not much else. It was the right decision to get rid whilst we could. Space freed up in the squad to move quickly for a player who's a better fit there.
I’d prefer Sanchez in the CB role than Davies, Dier and Royal.

And us move quickly in the transfer market? We had all summer to address the clear weakness in our defence. The club were incapable of doing so despite having money to do it.

My guess will be, we may well buy another CB, but we won’t be quick in doing so, more likely end of January ready for February. By then it was pointless, we needed them in now, with the squad back in the summer.

If anyone's pointing fingers at Ange for today's game, they might be missing the bigger picture. I mean, come on, we squandered so many golden opportunities, and let's not even talk about the CB situation – just having one fit would've made a huge difference. Picture this: a day where we actually convert those chances or have a solid backline; we'd be celebrating a 2 or 3 goal win. It's all part of the process, so let's keep the faith and trust the journey.

Now here's a hypothetical question. If we keep losing let's say the next 5-6 games despite showing attacking intent, will the pressure be on Ange? Or let's say if the losing streak goes beyond 10 games, what will your thoughts be?
Absolutely not. I said it mid way through the match, we half a squad missing, (literally ten players who would be in the first team squad if they were fit) and somehow we played one of the most in form teams in the toughest league in the world off the park at times, were it not for poor finishing or timing of runs it would have been 8-3.

I have had years of absolute dross from spurs, and to see the way we play is entertaining. Every match we have lost we have had a real chance/intent of winning it, even when we are down to 9 men! I love the ange and i can see what he is trying to build here. Give the man 1/2 quality cb’s and a finisher to compliment this squad and lets see what we do when the squad is back to fitness.

not really got much choice with the players missing. He plays one way, we know he won’t change despite the personnel, and he’s mostly forced to play whoever is healthy. He’s trying to instill a philosophy and a brand. It’s the bloke upstairs that likes to leave managers short time and time again
It is ok to criticise him when he gets things wrong. He's made mistakes and they've cost us and it's that simple for me.

This doesn't mean I don't think he's the right man for the job, or that I don't believe he will get us to where we want to be because I do.

So much to like about that game. But again this makeshift defence can't make up for so many wasted chances. It's gonna continue to be the same story I fear until we get players back or in.

It's so incredibly frustrating to see what we are capable of, if only we could keep players on the pitch. Hope Bentancur injury ain't that bad, Cash is such a dirty bastard.

Yeah I think the performances today showed that with Bissouma back and Romero back, we will cope alright. I think it's pragmatic to anticipate a rough one next week but after that, we haven't lost huge ground to our rivals despite what will most likely be the hardest part of our season and I think we will get back to winning ways quite comfortable after city.

Yeah, and like I say it’s just the subs I’m baffled by.

I think it’s a fairly unprecedented injury crisis at this point, and seeing the starting line up, I thought good going for it.

So having started out like that, I was just shocked to see such a baffling, and if I’m honest, pointless sub.

I think Ange has done brilliantly, and I wouldn’t change 99% of him so far - I just wish his subs mirrored the philosophy he more often than not picks his starting XI with.

Yeah I think that's fair

A predictable result. Expect more of this until we get that midfield back and prop up the squad in January.

I thought the midfield was the best part of today personally. Lo Celso and Bentancur was great. The defensive situation is what unfortunately lets us down, both in terms of defending and in terms of providing the additional passes we need in attack. That and the misses from the strikers today.

Obviously sad. But a lot of positives we played some exceptional football and created for fun but poor finishing and bad luck cost us.
We deserved the win, it’s the start of the project and we’ll keep improving let’s just buy in Jan and keep evolving the squad.
Finishing was so poor today
