Just got my digital ticket update from spurs and f’ing fuming. The size of the gunners badge against the mighty cockerel WTF Spurs
Could we not swap VDV and Davies about. Davies more than capable of playing beside Romero...
Use VDV's pace to nullify Saka...who's their biggest threat, lets be honest.
Build up most of our attacks down the right.
Cant seeus winning this, draw at best.
Arsenal have gone slightly off the boil recently but if we stick with our gun hoo approach then they’ll have a field day against us. We should set up similar to Bayern, keep the defence deep and nullify the space. I think we’ll see whether Ange is the future or if he continues to display his stubbornness in refusing to adjust his approach depending on the opposition. Picking up points have to be the priority, especially to secure 5th place. We can then reset in the summer when? the squad gets a much needed overhaul.
Draw will derail their title hopes. Not to be sniffed at.Cant seeus winning this, draw at best.
Reminds me of the old joke with the punchline "I love Arsenal more than you"My ex stated in my divorce that I loved spurs more than her
I think it’s really small time to change our approach at home because we are afraid of them. If we lose so be it, but being cowardly because we’re afraid of them is much worse imo.
Or is it not called changing tactics to give us the best chance of winning the game.
Newcastle changed their tactics against us and went home with a 4 nil win, did anyone think that because they changed their tactics that they were quacking in their boots about the mighty spurs or did everyone think that they did the right thing and completely expose our weaknesses time and time again to hammer us?
Newcastle are a completely different proposition to us. Same as Villa. They are teams who were recently in the Championship. They are at a different stage in their journey.
We have spent the last five years without any identity. The idea we should change tactics now because we are afraid of losing is silly. We need to stick with something, not abandon it after less than a season.
Heck, it’s not like we are desperate and in a relegation battle. We’re 5th in the league.
That is complete nonsense. We are Tottenham and havent won anything of note for over 3 decades, to suggest that we are somehow above altering tactics to win a football match is staggeringly arrogant and the type of arrogance that see's us regularly going to places like Fulham and Newcastle and getting beat 3's & 4's because we somehow believe that all we need to do is show up and collect the points.
Or play Emerson, Romero, Dragusin and VDVen. I know Dragusin wasn’t great at left centre back but with VDVen beside him we should be more solid as a defence unit. Given both Man C and Arsenal opt to play 3-4 centre backs across the back 4, there’s no reason we shouldn’t. It would also make us more solid defensively from set pieces and more of a threat at the other end. The only concern for me would be if Ange continues with his rash tactics and refuses to adjust our approach. God help us if he persists with the approach whilst also playing Davies at left back.
Arsenal changed their tactics Vs city. It’s not arrogant at all. It’s a fact. We have been in the highest league in the country probably since before you were born, unless maybe you are 50? I would be pretty sure that 90% of posters on here can’t remember Tottenham not being in the PL/equivalent.
None of the best teams change their tactics because they are afraid of the opposition. I can’t remember Spain, Barcelona, Man U, Man C, Arsenal changing their tactics.
Maybe you’re right about teams like Newcastle and Villa changing their approach. We’ll probably finish above Newcastle this season though.

I can't comment on Barca and Spain because I don't know enough about their current iteration.Again I would say they are at a totally different place to us. They’re five years into Arteta. Whereas we have had literally no identity or style of play since Pochettino left, except a kind of obsession that we need to win now. We’ve become obsessed with the idea of needing to win now which ironically has made us worse overall.
Sorry mate but you are wrong here. The very best and successful teams often change their approach depending on the opposition. Just look at the City Madrid game last week. I understand why Ange is playing this way at the moment but long term if we want more than just qualifying for Europe we need to be much more tactically astute. It’s not arrogant at all. It’s a fact. We should be concerned with our own target which is 4th. I don't know why people are acting like it's impossible. Win this and we give ourselves a chance.Draw will derail their title hopes. Not to be sniffed at.
Sorry Bluto Blutarsky, but I’m going to have to strongly disagree with this part of your statement. Against this lot wherever we’re playing them in the league home or away we ALWAYS need three points ……We don't need 3 points……..
