Great goal against Wolves but still lacking in general play for me. Never looks totally in control of the ball, runs up blind alleyways, only really makes token attempts to press and for a player who has such amazing pace he never seems to make intelligent runs off the ball.

Has done nothing to change my opinion.

I don't understand why he doesn't do more runs in behind, he always just stands around waiting for the ball to his feet. It makes him so static. He needs to stretch defenses more.

It’s nothing new that he’s inconsistent. That’s just him.

He’s not the most clever football player you’ll see. We seem to have a lot of players who seem a bit dense.

Really weird player. He has the actual ability and skillset to run at players and make life difficult for the LB's but he always seems to slow down, pass the ball back, stumble over his feet or fail to control the ball. I remember the game against Manu seeing Daniel James give Jan a torrid time and I was hoping Lucas would do the same for us against Luke Shaw but he didn't even try to be a threat at all.
Just shows how some players can look good in an amazing team in a poor league (at PSG) when in actuality fact the team were carrying him and the league standard was poor compared to the PL.

I counted 6 players yesterday who shouldn't be starting at this level. Lucas, Dier, Sissoko, Aurier, Vertonghen & Gazzaniga
Agree although think jan has another season at CB in him if Sanchez gets an injury but at LB I agree he’s not good enough there for a modern day LB.

this is also why I wasn’t surprised we lost to Chelsea because our team just simply isn’t good enough at the moment.

Lucas is a player who has never fit into a team. He either does something completely by himself, or he gets on the end of something created by someone else. If neither of those things happen he does nothing. He will never be, and never has been, part of a functioning team unit. He can't pass the ball, for starters.

He really is a very very limited footballer. Fantastic shot on him, and has pace, but his dribbling ability is so unorthodox and clumsy. Never looks like he has control of the ball. Capable of magic moments but he lacks in so many areas, as others have said, he isn’t a team player. Can’t pass or cross, no creativity. Has a good leap on him though and is strangely good in the air.

You know what he reminds me of, like a Brazilian Theo Walcott / Andreas Townsend, just a slightly better version.

Bottom line though, he isn’t at the level we need. Has more poor games than good ones.

Haha Brazilian Townsend or Walcott is so so spot on!

Much better and more productive than Townsend but don’t let that get in the way of some hyperbole.

But yes, should be a squad player for the level of team we claim to be.

Moura is a decent player, he can run with the ball and gets in great positions within the box to score, and today he did work hard closing players down.... But he runs into so many dead spaces or doesn't pick the right pass which is killing his, and spurs game at times! Really hoped he would have improved on these areas by now.

Even for Kane's goal today, he got lucky the ball bounced around and landed near Kane.

Was very impressed with his attitude in the 2nd half today. Showed a grit and determination I honestly did’nt think he had

Also think he lacks awareness of players around him and not sure he thinks a step ahead.
He does offer something to the squad though and hope we can be in a position where we dont need to start him!

He's just limited. Struggles to keep up with quick passing and even if he's rapid, so many promising counters and passing moves break down because of him. He's pretty good at popping up in decent positions and making runs off the ball and will also get some goals due to a willingness to have a go (see Wolves).

Every time I see him struggle to make any impact during a game, losing the ball time after time, I still come back to everyone lamenting pochs decision to start Kane over him in the CL final. With regards to squad morale it was maybe not the best decision but I highly doubt that he would’ve been the difference between us winning or losing.

He was riding on the wave of getting us into the CL final with his hat-trick. He would've been up for it and surely given Liverpool more worries than Kane, who was coming back from that long lay-off.

De Ligt (sp) In Pool defence has said that he knew Kane was injured . Everyone knew Kane wasn't fit for CL final except Poch...well he knew but was frightened of Kane's reaction to not being played in such a big match . For me pure player power triumphing over club imperatives . Mega disappointing from both men involved .
