"I am not in charge, I know nothing about the situation of my players. I am only coaching them, trying to get the best from them."

Despite everyone criticising some fans for worrying over our lack of transfers, the plain facts are that Pochettino is clearly frustrated at present as per his comment above. He asked us to act like a big club over the Summer which I don't think we have. I think it's clear he wanted a few players in early so they were involved in pre season and aprt from N'Dombele, it hasn't happened. Personally, what frustrates me the most is that we are so close to being top contenders and we only need 2 quality players. The foundations are already there. Now I'm not saying go and spend £300 million, but surely £100 million on 2 further quality players is too much? Record profits, record kit deal and the stadium is now finished. Plus we've also got Trippier, Vorm, Llorente & Janssen off the wage bill. If we can't spend now then we never will.

WOULD YOU MIND RE-POSTING THAT A BIT LARGER MATE AS I DIDN'T QUITE CATCH IT?

Now I can read it at last I’m puzzled.

He says “but surely £100m on two further players is too much”.

This makes this post a genuine first - the first ever to call for the club to spend less on players.

I'm sorry but I just cant help myself here. What on earth are you talking about?

Seriously?

So you believe that you go and broadcast to the world exactly what you have and what you can spend? What do you think the result of that will be when negotiating players purchases and sales?

That because the stadium is built that it is paid for?

That we are all privy to the conversations between poch and levy?

It is this kind of idiotic rambling that make sc such an infuriating place to be during the transfer windows.

See you all next week.

Of course not, clearly. But be up front with your manager and stick to it....surely thats the point?

Have a nice week! (y)

Taking my outsiders view of this (I'm not ITK at all), and ignoring the ITK (which we all love and respect and appreciate, but still) so as to keep this as objective as possible,...
If we have to think about who are the jokers/chancers/unreliable party/reckless risk takers/unprofessional/liars/unpredictable/unstable/etc etc,..
And we have to choose between Daniel Levy and those running Betis,
Surely, Surely, it has to be the people who just spent over €30M on a player whose knee is bad enough that other more serious minded clubs opted not to sign him at all. (Even though they were past the point of no return and the whole thing played out publically, to their considerable dissappointment and embarrassment)

Betis just spent/risked an amount of money that they really can't afford to lose, and it really could be that his knee will deteriorate and they will be left with nothing at all. Re-sale value could well be zero. I'm glad our club isn't run this way!

The risks they are taking on Fekir are epic, and risk the future wellbeing of their club on something they absolutely can't control.

To my eyes, Betis are the reckless gamblers around the table, the ones who are playing with stakes they can't afford. They're the ones likely to be wasting everyone's time, and most likely to keep changing their story.

Under DL, the trajectory of THFC has been a steeper upward curve than any other club in the PL besides those taken over by someone with money to burn, and no-where else to burn it. That is also objective, and not based on anyone's opinions. (Although here on SC I'd expect an arguement all the same, and that's cool, that's why this place is interesting, so feel free to take it apart, I don't mind).

Under DL we are totally transformed. So much so that now, just before DL's critics slam him for being stuck in the past, penny pinching, stubborn, etc, they are now saying that THFC must take advantage of the fact that we are now seen as more attractive than Arsenal, MU and possibly Cheslea too, because, wait for it, we just appeared in the CL Final!

Nobody's perfect, I know. The latest comments from Poch about not being involved in transfers really doesn't sound good. I hope DL will do something to improve that situation, as it sounds like it needs it.

He's part of the committee, what else would he need to know? Since when have any of our managers actually ever dealt with the deal side of a transfer?

Considering the first news of this transfer broke on BBC and the figure was 50 million + (can't remember if that was pounds or euros) then I wonder where Gaffney is getting those figures from.

Gaffneys figures could be what Betis end up with once the sell-on fees are taken out of the fifty million.

Wasn't there some info right at the start of this saga that they were only asking for €40M before we showed an interest?

Oooooffff, I've had some stick for posting in a bigger font!! :) I genuinely don't know what the hell I did though, I didn't mean to do it...

Either way, away from the playground name calling & sarcasm, anybody who thinks we are acting like an ambitious club needs to be locked away in a rubber room. Levy is not backing Poch, and I personally think he will leave next Summer if this continues to happen.

You're starting to confuse your arguments now.

This place can be soul destroying.
Only a week now, plenty of time to get things wrapped up.
I expect happenings to start from tomorrow.

There was, from ITK, can't remember who but pretty certain Dov posted it.

I don't really understand how anyone can argue against this

''Tell me I'm wrong" just sounds like an instruction to me, so I followed it.

Joking aside, there have been maybe 9 players signed by last years top 6 and we've got one of the best of them. The market needs movement and we're in a chain here, I expect a lot of movement this week as it just has to happen or it won't. I'm not saying that we guaranteed to be involved and we could be left without an future signings, but I'm not lacing up my concrete boots just yet.

If it's true that Fulham are asking for 40m plus two players for sessegnon, then you'd hope spurs would start to consider signing Junior Firpo instead. We'd then be able to bypass Lo Celso's sell on clause by paying more for Firpo and less for Lo Celso:sneaky:
