Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up their options regarding the future of Giovani Lo Celso, who is a target for Barcelona during the January transfer window. Lo Celso is into his fifth season under contract at Spurs, but has seldom made an impact in his half-decade with the club following his 2019 move from Real Betis.

Bissouma & Sarr off to AFCON, plus Bentancur out until circa Feb/Mar and Maddison out until circa Jan. That means that (probably) Lo Celso, Hojbjerg & Skipp will be our our only match-fit CMs in late-Jan / early-Feb.

Having just (today's press conference) acknowledged that letting Sanchez leave was a mistake, I can't see Postecoglou signing off on a CM leaving in January.

And certainly not on loan which is the only way Barca could entertain bringing him in.

It is difficult though isn't it? We had to trim the squad and whilst Dier does not suit the system, there were no offers or at least reasonable ones on the table for him. Sanchez was a better fit but there was an offer on the table and Ange did not see him in his long term plans and so he let him go. Both players get an unreasonable amount of criticism in my view.

We have to keep Lo Celso unless we are getting someone in to replace him, we cannot be left in a weaker position at the end of the January window.

Selling Sachez was not a mistake not replacing Sanchez was a mistake
Which sound clever, but is just an illogical and silly statement.

The principle of selling Sanchez during the transfer window may have been correct. Obviously with the idea that he would be replaced. To sell him after the transfer window was closed - making it absolutely impossible to replace him/get someone new in - cannot be seen as anything but a mistake.

Ange disagrees with you and right now he's the gaffer

Whilst you're entitled to your opinion I value Ange's opinion more
But Ange agreed to his sale at the time, so are you suggesting he's now changed his mind?
I haven't seen anything from him to say that but maybe I've missed it?

He agreed to his sale with the belief that a replacement would arrive.
Iirc, he expressed disappointment about not getting in another defender after the window closed.

I’ve changed my mind on him now. Providing a replacement comes in I’d be happy to get rid now. 2 good games and picks up a niggle when we need him to step up.
