Great little player who Betis recently bought from PSG - but Betis might be tempted to cash in this summer and we're interested.

Whoscored: Lo Celso

Incredible young player, finally playing in the position he excels in. Don't take much note of what he did at PSG, he was behind Veratti, Matuidi and Rabiot so he was largely played out of position.

Can play equally well at CM and AM, if you could combine the best attributes of a #8 and #10 into one player, this is the player you're looking for. He is incredibly versatile and creative, along with being decent in the tackle. Would provide the goals and assists we lack from CM. If Sissoko had to power forward with the ball, we could trust Lo Celso to cover the DM position for him. He can create from deep and from up top. A truly versatile player in the mold that Poch seems to love.

Only issue is he would be competing with Eriksen and Winks for positions, but competition is always a good thing and is something we sorely lacked this season.

Along with N'dombele, this is right up there with my must have signings, he would excel under Poch and his team.

If we could get him for £40 Million it would be a very fair deal for both us and Betis.

The signs are there, N'dombele and Lo Celso in and Eriksen out could mean that we are adapting our system to compensate for his loss.

Probably true. If we sold Eriksen for between 80-100 million and then used that cash on N'dombele and Lo Celoso, its about as good business as we could possibly do.

Think we’d do well to get 60 million for Eriksen given his contract length. That would fund N’Dombele and Lo Celso’s eyeballs and scrotum

Really like the look of him, but I hope he's not seen as the Eriksen replacement (if he leaves). They're such different styles of player and we're gonna also desperately need someone more in the playmaker mould to complement all our runners. We haven't signed a proper creative midfielder since *checks transfermarkt* Alli 4 years ago and he's spent the best part of his Spurs career playing as a second striker.

Would you say his style is similar to a Mr Modric? Hard to dispossess the ball from him, and form the clips even though he may not be big in stature players seem to bounce off him when they try to attack the ball from his feet

Or they can wait a year and get him for fuck all. We don’t have quite the same leverage
There’s more a chance of Eriksen signing a contract rather than leaving on a free than there is of Hazard doing the same.

Hazard is nailed on to leave for Madrid, whether it’s this year or the next.

Eriksen on the other hand has also shown loyalty of this kind before as he signed a short deal so Ajax could receive a fee for him.

Hope so.

But past loyalty is shaped by variables such as age, experience and market dynamics. He might well be very keen to make his dream move as he enters the peak years of his career and force the move by not signing an extension. There’s been significant ITK stating we’ve offered him an excellent deal but he has still declined to sign. Perhaps that’s him saying “sell me now and make some money, or keep me another year and make nothing.”

Or he might be waiting to see how serious we are about matching Poch’s ambition with some quality signings. Perhaps if he sees us significantly strengthen, he’ll comitt his best years to play at the best level possible?

I can’t really say for the rest but I’m very confident that Levy won’t sell him cheap and so long as the valuation isn’t outrageous I think he’ll stay and re-sign if Real/Barca don’t pony up.

Eriksen is a player who underratedly “gets it” if you’ve ever listened to his interviews (the post semi final one was a great example) he is able to see the forest for the trees. He’s very capable of thinking about all the machinations going on in football and as such I’m confident that he won’t be going anywhere on a free.

This is the one player I was hoping we could sign that could give that creativity in the middle of the park.
I really hope this happens

That’s my point. I don’t think he’ll want to go on a free either, but I can’t see us getting much more than 60 million for him. Hazard is different because he’s exactly the type of player they need. Obtaining him strengthens them more than getting Eriksen because they’re well stocked in his position so they’ll fork out much more for him

Would love to have him. Could see him being the replacement for Lamelas place in the squad. He offers that sort of versatility with a really strong work rate.
