Like I have said before, if he was willing to sign for us I'd give him a piggy back from Madrid to Spurs lodge just to get him here. He is exactly the kind of player we need right now

So Madrid will risk going the whole business end of the season with only one recognised top striker..? It's BS as is the whole Benzema link....

Watching Real Madrid the other night it was made plain by the commentary team that Llorente had already agreed to join Real but not til the summer. The deal has been done though apparently.

Jose wanted him now in Jan with Higuian going down injured but Bilbao are having none of it and are sticking to the deal being a summer completion. Thats what they were saying, so if they've got Ade on loan too with Ronaldo playing up front as well then I guess it's possible Benzema is available tho I would still doubt it.

No. They are short of strikers, why sign one to let another go?

Maybe because Mourinho doesn't like Benzema and sees Ronaldo and a new striker as adequate cover upfront until Higuian returns

If they're loaning Adebayor then its just a stopgap until they get Llorente in the summer. Maybe they'll try and sign another striker aswell though, someone like Diego Milito for example. Only then can I see them letting Benzema go.

Don't forget, Kaka is back too.

There likely to play:

Casillas

Ramos Pepe Carvalho Marcelo

Alonso Khedira

Ozil Kaka Di Maria

Ronaldo

with Adan, Arbeloa, Albiol, L Diarra, Graneo, Leon, Adebayor on the bench.

Even before Higuain got injured Jose told he wanted another striker as he wanted 3 quality striker in the squad, so why would Jose sell his only striker...?

Mourinho doesn't see Ronaldo as a striker, and prefers to keep him where he is now out on the flanks, so I don't think they'll be playing Ronaldo alone up top. Benzema will be staying.

I had hoped Benzema would be available this window but with Llorente seemingly having signed a pre-contract agreement to move there in the summer, even with Adebayor coming in i can't see it happening.

Realistically, they will have Benzema, Adebayor and Ronaldo as strikers while Higuain is injured. Once Higuain is back and if they sign Llorente they will then have 5 potential strikers. Assuming Ade goes back to Man City, Benzema may then also be available to cull it down to 3 strikers.

It doesn't have to be for you though really, the only thing that will matter is if Mourinho (& the Real Madrid president) feels that way

Which they obviously don't if you follow Madrid with any great interest.

Real only play with one striker.

In addition to the rumoured arrival of Adebayor, they also have Ronaldo, Kaka and the youngsters Morata/Juan Fran who can play up front.

Look at Barca, Villa is technically there only striker ... you don't see them looking for anyone else do you as they've got Messi, Bojan and Pedro who can cover if necessary.

But the crux is who the manager sees as a striker, and Mourinho doesn't see Ronaldo as a striker. Plus people are speaking as if its guaranteed they'll be getting Adebayor when all the sounds coming out of Madrid have indicated they're getting no one. Real aren't exactly known for keeping their cards close to their chest either.

Higuain is out for another foour months, Mourinho DOES NOT see Ronaldo as a striker, ditto Kaka. Oh they have youngsters in Juan Fran and Morata? Well that's just fine, I'm sure Mourinho will be more than happy to have one of them leading the line should Adebayor get injured.

If Adebayor signs it'll be to take the work load off Benzema and to provide back should he get injured. NOT, i repeat NOT as a replacement because that would leave them right back where they started.
