I really do hope that was the real Carlton Cole!

I knew Campbell was a wrong un when me and a few other kids waited outside the training ground for autographs one pre-season, and he sped out in his Merc and nearly wiped us all out, without stopping or looking back. The parents were not happy. Ian Walker didn't look too impressed either. CampBell.

I'm genuinely confused here.

Which of you lot honestly didn't think he couldn't outdo himself in the scumbag stakes? Whenever I see something about him, I always think of the Newman and Baddiel History Today sketches;

"See that pond scum over there?
That's you that is, you're that piece of pondscum."

Doesn't surprise me one bit. I wish we'd stop singing about him and let him fall into obscurity.

I was cringing whilst watching him on the Blatter documentary the other night, speaking as if he was the bastion of integrity. As if you'd ever ask someone like Sol Campbell his opinions on greed.

Sol Campbell taunted on Twitter after blasting 'terrible' cafe worker

Sol Campbell, the former England defender, has become the subject of online ridicule after tweeting about receiving poor service at a London cafe on Wednesday.

The ex-Arsenal player posted: “Such terrible service from Liam at @CambridgeStCafe this morning! I will not be going back there again!”

Within minutes, social media users jumped to Liam’s defence, accusing Campbell of “being a grass” and trying to get an innocent man fired before Christmas.

Liam, who works at Cambridge Street Cafe in south-west London, tweeted a message to the footballer: “Liam here. Think we got off on the wrong foot. Would love to make amends. Hopefully see you soon.”

Here is a selection of other tweets making the rounds. The Guardian has contacted Liam for comment.

Would we care as much if it was Harry Kane?

Would we care as much if it was Harry Kane?
I think a large part of the point is that Kane almost certainly wouldn't do that. Hardly anyone would

Anyone's got a right to call out bad service, but a famous person calling out an individual in that regard is just Cambelly
