Every now and then I check this thread thinking he might have said/done something to make him not look like a massive ****.

I'll check in again soon.

If he had any sense he would have spent two minutes during that interview saying something like:

I realise now what I didn't know at 26. That football means more to supporters than I knew or would have expected. And of course Spurs supporters felt betrayal for me going to their fiercest rivals. That's clear to me know, and while I won't excuse making a career decision that I felt would be best for me, I am sorry for how it happened and for the disappointment I caused.

It is a shame. He came from absolute poverty and he could be doing so much for the community in Tottenham. What a role model he could have been. Showing the youth of black communities in particular that there is some hope. You can achieve and be a hero. Someone to be admired.

Instead what would his message be? Stab in the back every fool who has helped you along in your career? Just concentrate on yourself. Be absolutely ruthless. Be hated.

If he has genuine remorse for what he did, he's yet to show it. He is proud of it.

Isn’t it time fans moved on? Let the guy live his life. And stop with these awful chants?

They aren’t banter - they aren’t a bit of fun, they are disgusting and should be banned.

It’s a game - and nothing more, and those singing it are either grown arse 30+ year old men, or too young to even understand and just following the crowd…

yeah it was shit what he did, but it was 20 bloody years ago and doesn’t warrant the ongoing abuse. Either direct - or indirect.

I partially agree. The we're all having a party tune I find disgusting and I'm disappointed that our fans still go that far, but the DJ Ötzi tune calling him a **** I have no problem with.

You know what? We should be glad it happened.

Look at his personality and chatacter. He is untrustworthy, totally full of self worth and lacks any empathy.

Now imagine if he had stayed at the club for years and been given all the privileges that come with that?

We'd all be thinking that this total tosser doesnt represent our club and wishing hed just shut up.

Instead, he's shown over the years he's all about himself and not relatable to any set of fans

I think Id cringe every time he'd open his mouth if he was a Spurs 'legend'.

So yeah, thanks, Sulzeer

I think that I might have learned something here and that is to play the man and not the ball, since the ball hasn't done anything wrong.

Is he still receiving death threats? If so then that's fucked up, why waste your time even writing one?
He is not in any way a pleasant or a nice man, but to take the time to send him something that could get the sender a criminal record or/and a prison sentence is even more troublesome.
The geezer is a ****, leave it at that.

He says he's receiving death threats. He said a lot of other things in the past as well when he wanted a bit of attention. Bloke's a narcissist (amongst other things).

So I guess im the only one who hs kinda like just numb to what he did now. Doesnt mean I forgive and I forget but it does mean I dont give much attention to him. He is a clear ****, comes across as hugely unlikeable and a narcissist as some say but like dont think he now warrants a lot of the singing about him in games etc - id rather focus on our team. Thats just me personally.

I do think the whole 'we are having a party when Sol Campbell dies' is just wrong in my opinion, and this is coming from someone who has a high threshold of what is wrong

Funny thing is most of the Arse fans think that too.
