I am going to hate Jose being the Spurs Manager for the next two years. I am just never going to like him, but I do think we will win under him because there is quality in our team. We have one of the best strike forces in the league. If Mourinho gets a DM, RB, LB and Back up CB in this summer transfer window we will be able to unleash our attack and midfield. I know we also need a back up striker and Lloris's replacement, but this is less important.

The important thing is Levy Backs Mourinho this window and show ambition.

I dont think Levy would have appointed him without knowing he needs to back him. Otherwise there was no point in getting him in. I'm excited to see what this window brings.

Blind optimism is always my weak spot.

One of the twitter aggregators reckons that Jose a DM, RB, CB and a Striker this summer.

If we assume that's true, I think it's great that the positions that Jose is targeting pretty much aligns with what the majority in here have said the problem areas of the squad are.

Obviously it's more important what the manager thinks but I also thinks it's good when we're all seemingly on the same page of what needs to be fixed.

For me it was dropping him away to Kaiserslautern that I’ll never understand. Our best player by far and our first European campaign in almost a decade, he went and did that.

Never forgive never forget.

This.

Gin had tormented Kaiserslautern at the Lane. They couldn’t handle him.

When they saw Spurs’ team sheet for the game in Kaiserslautern, they quickly applied to change their starting eleven (somehow, that was legal?) to a much more attacking line up. Couldn’t believe their good fortune.

Yeah we've all got one of those moments. One of mine was a slow burner.

Levy sacked Hoddle and appointed Pleat caretaker for the best part of nine months, virtually the whole season, while he did due diligence on his search for the 'right man'

Then, after all that, he appointed Santini who lasted thirteen fucking games.

Twat. That was when the penny dropped. OK we lucked out and ended up with Jol but for me, the worst of it, was Pleat. Fuck me it was horrendous.

That year I was squandering my money on food and rent and really struggled to find the money for my season ticket and to have pretty much the whole season written off like that really fucking annoyed me.

:cautious: :sneaky:

Never forgive, never forget :woot:
For me it was sacking Martin Jol mid game, Jol was spurs through and through and it was he who started our upwards trend into the European spots, he galvanised the club and fans and to sack him mid game was so classless and disgraceful given what he'd done for us, I was at the game that night and it was possibly one of the most emotional atmospheres at a Spurs game I've witnessed.

Agree on the Pleat caretaker for 9months, that was a tough time, interestingly on a podcast one of the ex spurs players said how the squad just all hated Pleat as he was such a dinosaur, no-one respected him and his tactics and training were just laughed at.

Never forgive, never forget.

I'm pro mourinho but I can't say I'm very happy about his views on FFP.
Or his creeping up to Newcastle just because of their potential new wealthy owners.

He made his fortune, working for billionaires so it is understandable that he rather there were no restrictions on them, otherwise he would be suggesting all those unrestricted trophies he won at chelsea were not entirely legitimate or good for the game.
Which they weren't.

But he works for us now and should promote what is in the interests of this club. We haven't got an owner who will spend what it takes, and it is better for us if the billionaire clubs are reigned in. He should make this clear.

At first I thought all his talk of the connection he has with Newcastle was genuine, and I'd simply not noticed before. But then he is filmed pining around the statue of Bobby Robson, calling him boss, and saying what a great guy Bruce is, and you have to conclude he is up to something. He fancies himself for the job in my opinion.
And those that say good riddance, should remember that he'll need 20 players over the next few years to get them up a few levels, and the club that would be raided first would be ours.

What planet are you on fella?

Apart from when he wanted to go to Newcastle...

Yep if true that is about spot on to what we need.
Also depends if Ndombele stays or goes, if he stays and is fit with the right attitude etc he could become our creative CM next to the DM then happy days, if he does then i'd say we'd need to add a creative CM to the list of what we need for sure.

Yeah I think it's on the assumption that none of our main talent leaves that we aren't already assuming will leave i.e Vertonghen, Aurier

He wasn’t sacked mid game!

The news merely leaked mid game.

“I was always a Tottenham fan since I was eight with my brother, I had the shirt of Jimmy Greaves from the sixties,” said Jol.
"I love Spurs, it will always be my club"

That’s all true.

But it’s also true that, while still at Spurs, he secretly met with Newcastle about the possibility of taking the job there. That’s what Spurs Bear was referring to.

Well I just can't come to believe that as I have too much love for BMJ and little respect for the way the bald headed assassin goes about his business with people so lets just agree to agree it was unfair on BMJ and we all love and miss the big man very much!

"I LOVE MARTINN JOLLLL.. MARTIN JOL LOVES MEEE"
