Gotcha. I was not around yesterday so I did not follow the timeline. The Cook story just seems like it was leaked to force Villa to realize nobody else is coming in for Grealish if we move on - and Villa know they realistically have to sell Grealish to meet FFP.

I imagine Villa were emboldened by the new investment and were sticking to their valuation, and this was simply Spurs next move in the negotiations.

I've not seen the Cook interest mentioned in any newspapers or media outlets though, you'd think if we wanted to leak some fake news, we'd put a call in to the Evening Standard and give them an "exclusive" or something.
