I just can't get excited for this signing. Just seems boring. I'm not english so I don't really care for the whole England-tottenham thing (I understand the necessity of HG players but we have our own in the academy who will count after their 21st birthday) and his stats last year aren't amazing compared to guys like Maddison who were in worse teams. Stats don't say everything of course but you'd expect more than 9 goals and assists from a guy who was "tearing it up"

Not sure if these have been posted but i just popped on Villa Talk and here's one of their ITKS with a few quotes...

this was posted on Saturday

re Bruce saying transfers are on hold ie takeover

"Because basically Jack was 99% our the door, Levy trying to low ball us has stalled it and backfired on him"

"I was told last night it should still go through however our valuation has now risen.
Levy thought we were desperate and offered lower and was prepared to wait assuming we’d become more desperate, they know they’ve beaten off other interest and Spurs is Jacks choice.
It’s backfired on him, if they meet our valuation it will go through, this is widely know behind the scene, hence Bruce asking him because potentially it could cost Jack a big move. It’s financially a huge move for him. "

Surely Henry becoming Villa Manager isn't the overnight breaking news itk were talking about as that can only have a negative affect on Grealish and a potential move to Spurs?

If this doesn't happen by Wednesday, he's unlikely to be able to meet up with the full squad or Poch for anything meaningful in the preseason tour.

Levy'd again.

IF!! Henry goes there, I'd be amazed if he hasn't been told he will have money to spend. Just hope that all the financials were agreed before this investment rocked up.
At a guess I'd say if its not announced by the end of this week, deals dead.

Yet another former great player getting a very good job with no experience of coaching at club level or man management experience. What is it with these Chairmen who make such appointments ? Would they give the top job in Industry to someone with no previous experience ?
And when will Sol Campbell get the job as his assistant?

Lots of noise that he’s coming down to meet us today. Hopefully that culminates with an over the top announcement video of him getting on the plane to join the America tour.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is nonsense being spun up for the Villa fans to make them feel like they might have lost their best player but still won a small victory in the process.

This whole "Levy lowballed us" story has become a bit of a recurring myth IMO. I've no doubt that Levy has done it in the past but I feel like because of this it's often rehashed and peddled out again by the oppo fans when it suits them.

All the talk of new owners now means that Villa don't need to sell is total BS. As many have said, FFP means they must sell and they need to do it quickly. The new owners is good for their future but means nothing for right now. The fee will be the fee and hopefully it's a fair amount for both sides.
