The quotes from Bruce in this article are all over the place:

"I know for a fact from the owners [that] anybody wanting to buy Jack Grealish will not buy him on the cheap,” he said.
"It's only what somebody else is prepared to pay - what he's worth. Until I have the conversation I can't really answer the question.
"[But] If we have to sell them then at least we get the right price for them and can move forward.
“If anybody is going to buy one of our players now they are going to have to pay a premium.”

Which is it Steve?

Those all can mean the same thing? It's just him saying "we'll sell him but you have to pay what he's worth to us" in different ways

Well he seems to say initially, you can't have him on the cheap.....which is fair enough.

Then he says a player is only worth what a team will pay for him.....right, a little bit contradictory to the previous comment but I get the point.

Then he says we'll be looking to get the right price.......most sensible thing he's said.

But then he finishes by saying, yeah you'll have to pay a premium.....so more than what he's actually worth then?

As I say, which is it?

Possibly that we have got a price but he may not be worth that if another won't pay that much, even so that's still our price or we don't sell him.
It sort of makes sense but it's all piffle anyway because they will sell him to us.:)

It's kinda like a double negative. I think that should clarify things pretty good.

Why're we all suddenly convinced he's signing tomorrow, what's happened?

A guy on the other forum got some itk from somebody who is close friends with Grealish that he himself has said its being announced Tuesday

How long does everybody think before we get an update along the lines of “Villa being really difficult now. Not looking likely at this point”

Recent post from some fella on COYS

Heard something today that may or may not be balderdash but I’ve got no reason to disbelieve the person that said it - they know someone in Grealish’s family and as far as they’re concerned it’s all but done aside from the medical and Harry Kane has apparently already been in touch to welcome him to the team and say how much he’s looking forward to playing with him

Like I said, could be balderdash but could easily tie in with what’s been said elsewhere

Fantastic signing. The right profile. Homegrown.

But these are the kind of signings that should be easy. Done at the beginning of the window and given plenty of time to mesh with the squad in preseason. There's no way the separation on a fee was more than a few million, and we've spent the entire window on this one.

I'm all for deadline day deals for players like Martial or Zaha. Prem quality talent that can instantly improve the team, but it's the mediocre signings late in the window that are dead on arrival.

I don't really understand this thinking. A few million here, a few million there, pretty soon there's no new stadium and instead we're worrying about whether the Anfield Road End is ever going to get done.
