as i make my first post on spurs community with apprehension about the the season to come, my nervousness is overcome by the prospect of it all kicking off again this saturday....EXCITED!!!!!....does not quite cover it, although i am unsure as many spurs fans will be at just what the new management, new system and new era holds for us i am looking forward to getting behind the club and especially getting to the lane as much as living in northern ireland allows me this season...COYS!!!

PS i plan less long winded posts in the future just had to get the first one out of the system :)

You think THAT's long winded! You should see Spurger King's posts! Full of wind, that man. :D

Can't wait to see how the Kaboul - Vertonghen partnership works, and how we truly shape up under AVB. The Olympics were refreshing, but I couldn't actually be bothered to watch any of the footy in it. The Prem is full of a load of nobs, but it's still an amazing football league.

Win, lose or draw, we are heading in the right direction. Very exciting.

When AVB joined and we quickly added two great prospects in the form on Vertonghen and Sigurdson to the squad I was very excited. However our lack of a striker signing has now got me worried for our first couple of games. I'm sure everything will be alright in the end though.

I'm very happy that keeping the likes of Caulker and Naughton will give us much greater options this season

If we get ade back yes, the areas lacking last season look to have been strengthened.

Absolutely

Even though I love Ledley to bits, I always thought his injury-prone nature hampered the club for years, as it unsettled the back-four and meant that there wasn't a captain/leader consistently on the pitch

I feel bad writing that, but unfortunately I think it's true

We won't have settled CBs this season either as Kaboul, Vertonghen, Caulker and Dawson will all be rotated.

I agree...sadly.
In that regard, I believe we have potentially truly strengthened at the back, even though it would be pretty hard to get a better defender at his pomp than Ledley, because, let's face it, that only has limited value if it is only for 10 games a season [sic.] while being at the cost of hampering someone else's development and preventing the proper cohesion of a reglar partnership. And the quality was, sadly, deteriorating, as well, last season.

If that happens (and I, for one, think central defence is the one place on the pitch where rotation should be limited), it will be a proper rotation with everyone knowing they will get their games, not a half-way house of aiming for a settled duo, disrupted by injury while all the time having a Ledleyan Sword of Damocles hanging over their heads.

We'll see, but if it happens they might be rotated in pairings, so at least each of them gets to form a partnership

Definatly agree, King was a great player but as a club we have messed about trying to fit injury prone players ( King, Gallas and even Dawson) into the team. Because of this policy we have not had a settled CB partnership for too long and its does not help.

Absolutely flat.

If we get key players in, then I'll begin to get a few tingles I'm sure. But until then, I just feel neutral.

cant wait for the return of the new season, getting back to watching spurs and going through the highs and lows of the season that all fans go through. Looking forward to see who AVB side gets on against the better sides and the tricky sides where we dropped points against.

Really nerves that we are going to get hammered on saturday at newcastle, but really hoping we can get a result away to a place were we we have been found wanting in previous seasons.

from now until the end of the transfer window, optimistic that we can get in a striker or two, a modric replacement, cover for lennon and bale, and maybe another defender. Near impossible given the number of days left in this window, but maybe over two windows maybe. We are as weaker now that we were last season, especially if modric leaves.

Now match-day has come I literally cannot wait!!!!! Why does it have to be a 17.30 KO, I'm going to spend the whole day just waiting for this game to start.... One of many weekends that will be ruined/made by Spurs no doubt
