Would prefer Isak but aware that he's probably out of our reach now.

If this is the guy we want to replace Kane then we could do a lot worse than getting him in this season even if Kane doesn't leave - give him 12 months to settle in and hit the ground running once he becomes the main man.

That's what a smart club would do and, regardless, if we somehow qualify for CL next season and Kane changes him mind then the CL money pays this off anyway so win-win.

If Kane leaves, this is the best realistic replacement alongside Isak and Andre Silva. Only issue I have is he’s quite one-footed with his finishing, and that means he requires certain angles to be the most effective in front of goal, but that left foot is lethal. Big, dynamic, desperate to get into scoring positions, pacy once he gets going, athletically and physically he’s basically Haaland without the elite top speed. I love his first touch with his back to goal too, and he receives the ball on the turn wonderfully. Is a fighter too, and at his size, he’ll make things stick more often than not.

Don’t look at me. I’m irrelevant.

This is good news. Along with Thuram that’s a decent upgrade on our front line options.

Im a swede and have watched Isak from the time he was playing in AIK. I would honestly say that he is a bit overrated and not at all worth 60-80m maybe 25-35m maximum. He is really fast and have good linkup play, but the finishing is way below top level. He has a similar style to Tammy Abraham but maybe a bit more skillfull but alot less dangerous inside the box

100% rather see us go for Vlahovic

He will be very expensive at least 50m. Can't see us doing that unless Kane is gone. And then it's very risky, had a similar career to Janssen so far, not done much then exploded for half a season, all be it in a better league

Have to say not seen much of him, but what I seen was quite impressive, definitely one to consider. Even if Kane stays for another season, we should be bringing in his replacement now and not having to wait for them to settle for half a season, although with funds being so tight it may not be a priority if harry stays

Whether Kane leaves next summer, doesn’t leave at all…we still need another striker and he is good for missing a few matches each season and should be rested more. This guy would be great cover/starter and potential to take over no.9 whenever Harry moves to greener pastures.

I was in Italy for six months over the last year and watched a bit of Fiorentina. He always impressed me, even if he didn’t score. I was surprised to see how young he was. He has a rounded game, not comparable to Janssen at all. He’s much more mobile, (he’s also a lot more mobile than Harry these days), He has a much better touch and will run with the ball. He’s also very aggressive. The Haaland comparisons are valid, though he isn’t lightning fast like Haaland. He’s got a good turn of pace mind.

I wouldn’t think we could afford him if those other clubs are in for him now, but I’d be confident if we spent €40 million on Vlahovic. He’s a very good player.

I absolutely agree with this, but we´ve made the same with Vinicius and that did not quite work out that great - it´s a tricky situation to be in, Kane is just too good to rest him if fit, and Vlahovic would need playing time to learn how to deal with PL and generally gain confidence and experience. he´ll come at quite a cost though (if at all), and I doubt we´re in a position to leave a 40 Million forward on the bench most of the time.

Also, he´s not a Mendes player, and common opinion around here seems to be that we only go for these.

the search for a Kane backup (let alone a replacement) to me is the most project in this transfer window

I’ve not seen much Serie A other than a few matches a season for a long while so only have the videos to go of and he looks the real deal, but could an avid follower of Serie A explain what changed for him to suddenly look like the second coming of Van Basten last season? The season before he played just as regularly but only scored 6. Is it just a case of adapting to a top league or did he add something to his game? Or like Harry, who struggled in the lower leagues before breaking through with us, is it just a case of getting older and developing naturally?
