Inter are about to clear their debt criteria with the Hakimi sale. Skriniar won't be going for a cut rate.

We need someone to not only dominate the opposition players but also dominate and lead our own defence. Does this guy fit the bill? I know everyone got excited about him last summer, but truth is I don’t know much about him.

Inter still want too much money for him so can't see it happening when likes of Andersen will be less than half his price.

One is an actual good player & 25. The other just had a semi halfway decent season in a terrible side after flopping miserably at Lyon & is already 25. There is a very good reason Skriniar is worth more. Toby was 26 when we signed him but we got him far cheaper than Andersen would be & he played mostly every game for a far better PL side than Andersen so these purchases arent comparable either. If we’re signing Tomiyasu, we should not be signing Andersen unless we plan on playing a back 3 & selling 3 CB’s & also Davies.

We need to spend the money. If we dont, its fucking useless to keep Kane & is just poor form. Keep him & invest to maybe win something like he, Son & Hugo deserve or sell him & rebuild.

Doesnt matter who is the better player

Matters who is cheaper

Can we please just push the boat out for once!? Him and Tomiyasu for a combined £63mill (reported fees combined - £50m + £13mill) would transform our defence and really help us kick on. Use Aurier, Sanchez, Foyth, CCV and another to cover the costs.

This is the 1 player that im sure would hit the ground running and have a VVD type effect.

We pushed the boat out for Davinson Sanchez and NDombele, and ultimately neither has done us much good (caveat: yet).

£100m for that pair (obviously not simultaneously) when we could have done so much better. If money is indeed finite, we need to be clever and accurate, rather than cavalier. For example, one Skriniar or two others (Anderson + Tomiyasu) plus change

Its a very valid point. However, Ndombele and Sanchez were bought because of their potential whereas Skriniar would be bought due to the quality he already has. He is the real deal.

I fully expect 2 cheaper purchases though as thats how we do business sadly.

I wouldn't say "sadly" necessarily - I think it's generally where we do best. Lower risk, lower pressure.

Ramos is a walking red card, but we could do worse than some of these guys:

I would only take Boateng out of that list. Everyone else is average or wouldnt cut it in the prem imo.
