While I do not condone personal abuse at any of our players they are not above criticism or being yelled at when they are not doing their jobs. There is no excuse for trying to strangle a supporter. Was it OK when Cantona did his famous drop kick or for that matter was it worse when Ghaly threw down his shirt ? Was it then ok that our " supporters " did what they did when he was coming on as sub ? Is all the homophobic abuse thrown at Campbell ok ? There are times when supporters cross the line and I have no idea if this was one of them.
What concerns me is that BAE's form is rapidly deteriorating and we have no other real options for that position. If his ego is hurt I don't feel that sorry for him because I don't feel he is 100% dedicated to the cause.

It's all ok

He must have called him a nigger or something, BAE having had a dodgy couple of years here before turning good must have got tons of abuse and never reacted before so it has to be racial as BAE was absolutely fuming

Fan drops allegation of assault against Assou-Ekotto

Tottenham full-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto will face no further investigation after a fan withdrew an allegation that the player had assaulted him.
Assou-Ekotto, 25, was involved in a confrontation with a supporter as he left the pitch at the end of Spurs' 1-0 defeat by Wolves on Saturday.
Police will now end their enquiries as the player and the fan will meet this week to settle the matter amicably.
The FA has also said it will take no further action over the incident.
Tottenham assistant manager Joe Jordan led Assou-Ekotto away after the incident and later gave his version of events to the club's security team.
One eye witness said the Cameroon international raised his hands to the supporter's neck after receiving verbal abuse.
The incident was not filmed as part of television coverage of the match but was likely to have been captured on CCTV as it happened so close to the tunnel.
A Tottenham spokesman said: "The club takes the conduct of our supporters and players, and the relationship between them, very seriously.
"The fan and Benoit are due to speak this week to bring an amicable end to the matter."
Assou-Ekotto joined Spurs in 2006 from French club Lens and has been ever-present in the Premier League team this season.
He scored with a memorable 30-yard drive in the 2-1 opening day win over Liverpool.

I will summarise the whole text above;

The club threatened to revoke the twat of a fans season ticket unless he accepted BAE apology, BAE was told he'd be fined if he didn't apologise.

All friends now. Storm in a tea cup.

Sounds like a typical lunchtime at school, though the bribes are slightly less exciting..

if you watch the vid, you can see Jordan react and walk over to the fan before he realises Benny is doing the same........if you ask me that means the fan said something bad enough to Benny that Jordan felt it necessary to give him an earful, no way it was anything less than racist or highly abussive, dick fan desereved a good slap.
