It says on The Suns website, that the fan only said 'youre shit' to him. Im sorry, but he should be able to ignore that. Twat of fan, but still.

I doubt the fan would own up to everything that was said, and yes footballers are supposed to be able to block that crap out but bottom line is they are still humans and we all see the red mist descend no matter what our demeanor is like 99% of the time.

I'm pretty sure that for BAE to actually turn around, clock the guy and walk over he said a lot more than "you're shit".

Block E, where you used to sit. Can't say I'm too complimentary about some of those that sit around me though! I've taken 4 different friends with me to see Spurs when my dad couldn't make it and they all - independently of each other - said they didn't know how I could have sat through it for so long!

In a small way I can understand why fans feel they have the right to moan & criticise players with the amount of money it costs to watch football these days.
Far removed from the 70's and the days of terracing, I can remember standing at Derby's old baseball ground watching such a woeful performance that some of the fans used the match programme which was a newspaper to make a bonfire to keep warm, we all sung our hearts out getting behind the players, you could see the team lift there performance when we did, they just weren't good enough to avoid a 3-1 defeat but not once did our fans start hurling abuse or anything remotely negative at the team, they were Tottenham and got our support regardless of performance.

he didn't even touch the guy. I admit if Jordan wasn't their it may have been different but the reports were saying he got him by the neck!!

However still no excuse unless abuse was racial. But he should have come out and said sorry or have the club write a statement on his behalf

No issue, if I had to put up with some of the ****s who sit at the lane week in week out berating pretty much evrything and everyone, I'm sure I'd find it hard not to react once in a while. Being judged week in week out is hard (and I know its part of the job, and that they are compensated for it) especially when the drivel spouted is so far off the mark it is laughable!!

Oooh, don't go there - advocating violence to combat racial abuse?

As said above, whatever it was the guy said, for Disco to lose his rag i would imagine that a little more was said than just, "You're shit".

Not knowing any of the details, having had a pretty shitty weekend generally, was the fan still in the stand by the tunnel, or had he stepped over the barrier? If he was on the field of play, as with the times Bellamy, Savage and Cloughie clouted fans, it should be a case of if he wasn't where he shouldn't have been, he wouldn't have gotten even threatened.

If nothing else, that no-nothing twat fan should be charged with a public order offence for shouting the abuse and winding up Bernard.

Oh, and the numpty on the first page claiming he's nothing more than a squad player and we should be looking to replace him with a proper left back - bet you didn't rate Lee either, huh? Lee was and Disco is an accomplished left back, who is still improving - give him a break.

I do more than that on the tube every day, much ado about nothing.

Besides, apparently the "fan" was a corporate so probably deserved a slap anyway.

Look we don't know the facts, so what is the point of discussing this - some say he didn't even touch him, in which case it is a non issue - lets wait until we hear the full story before we start the Benny Out rant!

There is more of a "fan is a ****" rant, than a "Benny out" rant. Just the usual non-entities taking a chance to pick on anyone playing in lilywhite.

Good on benny the so called "fan" deserved what he got, it was such a small incident that has been blown out of proportion, watch the footage on the sun he hardly touched him.

Looks like the "fan" was a chicken shit anyway, benny had to fair lean in to get near him!
