Depends what was said, if he was racially abused then good on BAE for confronting him, if he just said to BAE "fuck off out of the club your shit" then he got no excuse

I won't judge him till know what was said

If he said that he is certainly a grade A prick

Is there a queue to grab him by the throat and tell him to stop watching Tottenham for all our sakes, If so I'm joining

True but BAE and other players have to rise above it, players are always going to get abuse but they can't go around hitting fans but if the abuse was racial then the "fan" is fair game in terms of the player having it out with him

Wasn't is Benny that said in an interview that he only became a footballer because his brother said he could make a good wage in it? Or did I imagine that interview?
Yes i remember that interview too.

Where is your new ST Midostouch?

In the Upper Shelf we do have a high population of morons who turn out every week to abuse the latest hate figure - really gets me down.

Escapism basically, they need someone to vent their anger out on.

I'm in block 26 - lower east fairly near half way line. And to think that I moved from upper east (block E) where there were really great fans around me who showed their passion for the team in a positive way (or most of them anyway). It's so annoying when you know you're stuck with them for the whole season! Which block are you?

Block E, where you used to sit. Can't say I'm too complimentary about some of those that sit around me though! I've taken 4 different friends with me to see Spurs when my dad couldn't make it and they all - independently of each other - said they didn't know how I could have sat through it for so long!

My mate sits in the Paxton lower and I've sat with him a few times and I found the atmosphere down there was much better, obviously a few idiots but you can't ask for miracles.

You're not my granddad are you! He gave up his season ticket this season at the age of 87 and was a bloody good supporter. His first game being in the 30s!

 wrong gender and wrong age but I'd like to think I share the other characteristic you mention!

If he did - then good on Benni.
It actually shows he cares about the result and was as peeved as the fans.
The last thing he needs after a crap result is some pillock having a go.

I suppose, if nothing else, the children's village in South Africa will be having a good Christmas, what with Bentley and Pav not trying hard enough, JJ's engagement party and now Benny.

While I do not condone personal abuse at any of our players they are not above criticism or being yelled at when they are not doing their jobs. There is no excuse for trying to strangle a supporter. Was it OK when Cantona did his famous drop kick or for that matter was it worse when Ghaly threw down his shirt ? Was it then ok that our " supporters " did what they did when he was coming on as sub ? Is all the homophobic abuse thrown at Campbell ok ? There are times when supporters cross the line and I have no idea if this was one of them.
What concerns me is that BAE's form is rapidly deteriorating and we have no other real options for that position. If his ego is hurt I don't feel that sorry for him because I don't feel he is 100% dedicated to the cause.

When I first started going to Spurs there was an idiot who used to stand near us yelling, 'Why don't you fuck off back to Chelsea, you useless fat ****?!' at Bobby Smith (honestly!). I really would have loved to see him say it to Bobby's face.

Maybe there's no excuse for trying to strangle a supporter, but was this clown a supporter as we define one?

And yes, BAE is going through a worrying bad patch.

Looks like a little push. Nothing OTT. IMO, BAE was one of the few that actually tried his best to get us back in the game. Pathetic fan targeting him. Should have concentrated on Keane if anyone!

so here's a clip of the incident from sun's website...sure he shouldn't have done it, but you're no fan if you complain over such a little thing as this......if you can't take it, don't give it...what a tart

thanks for sharing.

have a read of the 'eyewitness' quotes. What a faggot that person must be. Clearly none of them are fans.

Also, there was a steward right there, who did nothing either before, during or after the incident. He's being paid to intervene in these situations and did nothing.

I still love Disco Benny.
