They do as they’ve not been with us 2 years, no?

Either way, makes no difference on our maxed out non hg limit, just means we can get Wood or King without having to make space.
They will be classed as HG in the league as they are under 21, but not in the Europe as they heaven't been with us for two years.

Out of the players mentioned I'd rather take one of the guys at Bournemouth. Wilson preferably, but it looks like we've moved away from him since the price is no longer (if it truly ever was) £10m. If we won't pay £17m for him, we won't be signing anyone from Burnley. They'll want at least that for one of their front men (Wood was signed for £15m). It will be interesting who we settle for. We need to settle for someone though. It's imperative we get another striker in.
Normally I would agree, however, I think financially Burnley may need to sell due to Covid. With Bournmouth already selling a couple and with the rumoured reduction in playing staff salaries due to relegation, they may be able to hold out for a little more.

This scrabble for strikers feels like the January window again. Even 'Dave at the end of the bar' from the Antwerp is being considered.

Come on you spurs - don't let us down now. Get someone good.

From the ITK thread- This is D1 saying we're still negotiating on 3 or 4 strikers at the moment, but he reckons it is a toss up between Milik and Wood:
(Bubble44 deserves a medal by the way, posted tons of new stuff from D1 in the ITK thread)
D1 in response to above

this is good info , at this point I would say its a toss up between him and a British born prem striker
D1
drags needs to eat some humble pie thought he was British lol, since when has NZ produced footballers

THEN

he is one of the irons in the fire for sure , people get set on one player but the reality is we are negotiating on 3 or 4 right now
the center half situation is clearer due to benficas no go on Dias is a toss up between diop and skriniar

Either Milik or Wood would be good options, both can fit as a Kane backup in our system, and the possibility of with Kane as well. Wood could also offer a plan B option ala Fellaini at United. Wonder what the fee would be though

Wood also has the benefit of being home grown, which may be the deciding factor due to our lack of non-HG spaces available in the squad at the moment.

Is New Zealand home grown (n)
Edit. Question, where is Old Zealand? Was it just called Zealand? Say it in a German accent. Btw, I'm not well, head full of snot.

I’m softening on Wood. Just want a striker in now.

He scores a decent amount of goals for a very defensive Burnley, and most importantly for me offers something very different to what we have. Plus he counts as HG I think.

Prem experience, and Burnley probably need money. I bet there’s a good deal to be done here.

Nationality has nothing to do with whether a player is considered "home grown" or not. Wood arrived in England when he was 17, and therefore spent enough of his development years here to qualify.

Eric Dier doesn't qualify as home grown for similar reasons.

Always rated wood. Manages to bag a lot of goals for a defensive team and cause lots of defenders including ours a lot of hassle. I wouldn't mind this at all.

I liked his goal at the weekend. Whether he’s the type of striker I’d like at the club is another story, but he definitely has his pluses. Again, they signed him for a lot of money (£15m?), so I can’t see how Burnley would settle for much under £25/30m. Their other main striker (and one I like more as he always seems to give the bigger teams a harder time) Ashley Barnes has been out with an injury and only just back so selling him without a replacement is a big risk for them.

Yeah, he’s not exactly a glamour signing, but I don’t think that‘s what we need in this position. We’ve already got one hell of a forward line. Wood offers something completely different. Similar to Llorente in that respect (who I think Poch failed to utilise properly.)
