I didn't realise Chris Wood was nearly 29. Not sure what fee Burnley would command, got to be £25m+. Is he worth it? Not IMO. Maybe if he was younger and could improve then possibly, but he's a mediocre striker playing at his level. Not good enough to push Kane or get us to the top 4.

Its a hard judgement imo. He may not be a world beater and pushing for starts, but should he? We just need someone who is there the next 2-3 years when our main striker is injured (hopefully always Kane, at the club, not injrued ;)). He should bring a few valueable attributes and know where the goal is.
Llorente was not the perfect package either, but would we have reached the CL final without him?

I agree, anything above 20-25m sounds a lot for him but do we as fans really care if the club is happy to pay it?

I think a major plus is that he is Homegrown. Question is, how many attainable players are on the market who have the needed profile?

And the hope is that Parrott will be ready in 2-3 years.

Wood for me, of the two, not seen that much of Milik though but the ITK about him wanting 150k pw certainly put me off

Well that and he seems to be on the opposite end of the personality scale to Kane. Yes we don't want "nice guys", but if we could avoid the Adebayor types then that'd be great.

I don't like the idea of a backup mediocre striker, we need someone of good quality who will push Kane and is better than the likes of Janssen, Llorente etc. The other top teams have good options, so should we.

Off top of head: better first touch, better outside of box, better awareness, better long range shooting, better movement of the ball, more pace, better linking up with other players, better at picking the right pass at the right time, better dribbling. Overall a better footballer. Obviously, Wood has his strengths.
You’d think it would find a way to show up in the stats then.

It may well do. Does it? And I suppose it depends on which stats are looked at. However, as far as analysing the stats go, I have neither the time or the inclination to do so. Im not really a huge fan, prefer to just watch the match and make my own judgement. There are so many things that stats will not pick up.

If all else fails could we gatecrash West Brom’s move for Ade? Reunite him with Bale and the celebrations will be lovely!

Even basic stats I mean. Like when someone has a list of being basically better at everything I’d think they’d score more goals y’know?

Especially when they’re in a better team.

I doubt he'd be a reasonable price. If Burnley are turning down big offers for Tarkowski how much would they want for their main goalscorer?

Nah, I don't agree. It's not all about goal stats.

Taking your point though, I suppose I would say that notwithstanding all of the other things that Milik offers compared to Wood (my opinion) he still scores the same amount of goals. I think Milik would be a much better fit and is a better player overall. Really hope we sign him.
