Wood regularly plays up front with Barnes so I'm not sure why he couldn't play with Kane?

Barnes is better than Wood. I’d rather have him out of the two and I don’t want either!

edit: lots of disagrees but no evidence as to why. Interesting.

Well thats not true. I don't want either of them!

In fact there is little difference between the two, expect Barnes played less minutes last season because of injury. The season before Barnes scored more goals. Barnes has always been more of a handful when we have played them.

34 goals in 94 premed league games v 38 in 155.

27 goals in Woods final championship season v 29 across all Barnes championship seasons.

At the moment, Kane is always the centre of attention for opposing CBs. We don't have anybody to draw that attention away and give Kane a bit more time and space. IMO, another CF like Wood as an option would do that in a way that Son, Moura, Bergwijn etc will never do and Dele only does up to a point. I think it would also allow Kane to drop a bit deeper and get more involved in our approach play and maybe offer him a few opportunities outside the box which I think he would enjoy. He's one of our most incisive passers but rarely gets the chance to use that ability.

Barnes is a far better player than Wood, has way more to his all round game and is the player who causes top teams trouble when Burnley play them.

In truth neither are good enough for where we want to be but the desperation levels must be so high if people genuinely want Chris Wood.

If Chris Wood was European he wouldn’t get soel
Of the mocking he has got in Social media over the last few days.
Good target man. Good goal ratio. Good team player. Prime age.
I am not saying he would be the top of my list but I do not see any problem with him being on our target list. There is a lot of negative bollocks spoken during transfer windows about perfectly good players. Probably goes some way to explains why English clubs are Generally a fucking disaster in the transfer market.

Christôphe Bois from Bordeaux with the same goal record in the weaker French league would have people very excited.

We have a very limited budget. Wood is probably as good as we can afford. Proven at premiership level and decent. I think you need to accept the current financial reality we are in.

Wood feels like a better option than another Janssen (potential, but untried in the Premier League) or Llorente (Past his best, but still decent). You know what you're getting with him which is what we need right now. You could same the same for Wilson, King and Ings as well.

Exactly. I don't even really want to get into a conversation about which striker at Burnley is better, especially when I don't fancy either of them.

It just illustrates perfectly where we are....and also how much people have been unlucky enough to watch Burnley!

So being serious who do you advocate? I mean it's not like with our budget there is much on the table. Man Utd seem to be maybe interested in King. I think Wood is a very capable option.

Out of the players mentioned I'd rather take one of the guys at Bournemouth. Wilson preferably, but it looks like we've moved away from him since the price is no longer (if it truly ever was) £10m. If we won't pay £17m for him, we won't be signing anyone from Burnley. They'll want at least that for one of their front men (Wood was signed for £15m). It will be interesting who we settle for. We need to settle for someone though. It's imperative we get another striker in.
