What I love is how it's so difficult to pick an MoM each game - we've actually been playing as a team.

a combination between really good players and tactic makes our present defence rock solid. Think we have great quality in all of them, toby, jan, kevin, davies, rose, kyle and trippier. Probably the best unit that ive seen.
But individually, King is no 1.

The mind boggles if we have a fit King right now. We can play 3 CBs all the time.

Mike England paired with Phil Beal having Pat Jennings in goal was quite a defensive foundation... compare that to Toby, Jan, and Hugo... interesting and nostalgic all at the same time (y):bookworm::cool:

This is the best team we've had defensively and from an organisation perspective that I can remember.

What is our record lowest goals conceded in the prem? Surely we're on course to beat it by some way.

The least amount we have conceded in the Prem is 38. We achieved this twice 95/6 and 05/6

So basically every 10 years we think "fuck this shit" and get good at defending for 1 season only?

It's lucky for Spurs's defence when the year ends in six

Catchier than the Jamie Vardy song anyway I think

If we concede 29 goals or less in the league this season it will be the best defensive performance in our entire history

As much as Dawson was a fans favourite I hope now everyone can see what a difference it makes having a set of defenders who are all comfortable on the ball, good positionally and read the game well - all glaring flaws in Daws game.

I remember having a good home defensive record the season we finished 4th. Think Woody and Dawson at the back I think? Or was it mostly Ledley? Only concede 12 goals at home that season. Our goal difference was 26 at the end of the season which is what it actually is now. And that was much down to the fact we bum fucked Wigan 9-1.

Don't forget that we play less league games now though. Was that, I assume 30 conceded, when we were only playing 38 games?

Bassong was heavily involved towards the end of the season and Ledley was in and out I think.

I know we shouldn't fetishise this like gooners, but I've been watching Spurs since 1995, and I can't think of a time other than now that we've had a good defence....

S*l was good, Ledley was great, there have been a couple of OK attacking full backs (Carr, Ziege & some bloke called Gareth who's gone to Spain) - but I can't think of any time (apart from now) I've felt confident about our back line

When have we been better than now?

The back line looks so good because Eric Dier is in front of it.

This is by far the best, most solid Spurs team I've seen in my lifetime. I grew up watching the likes of Gary Doherty in defence so I may have lower expectations than most, though.
