We wanted Piatek, he wanted to come. We wanted a loan to minimise the risk.

Of course we did, because we don’t want to have him around as deadwood in a year. He’s not good enough! Do you want another Janssen? N’koudou? None of the available strikers this window are good enough for a team with ambitions of winning the league.

Llorente didn’t play much last season, even when Kane was injured. We mainly used Son and Moura, now we have swapped Eriksen with Lo Celso, and bought Bergwijn. IMO We’re better off than this time last season, and with Rose and Eriksen gone, I suspect squad morale, and thus our performance, will only get better and better.

Lastly, look at United: Biggest club in the world, known for throwing cash around like candy - they’re loaning fucking Ighalo. And you expect us to sign world beaters?

Because we've had since Llorente left to sign a backup striker.
Because we've had a month since Kane got injured to desperately sign a backup striker.
Of course we failed trying to do it in the last few days and of course the options left were awful.
There's no world class striker who fancied playing in the best stadium in the world and working for the most famous manager in the world?
There's really no defence for how much Levy fucks about trying to get a "deal", pinching pennies but losing pounds.
Yes Rob ban anyone that disagrees with this please! The appologists are a fucking cult.

We've loaned out at least 7 players in the last two days (Rose, KWP and a bunch of youth players) and I'm still trying to add up their wages to Bale. Fuck my life. ???

If you were Lampard/Chelsea why would you help out a top 4 rival?

If their keeper got injured and they wanted Gazzaniga we'd tell them to do one, and we'd do it right at the end of the window to hurt them more.

The whole Giroud pursuit was ill advised. A waste of time.

Would you give them Vorm? Cuz we wanted the third choice striker who never plays. But I understand what you are saying.

The thing about being a big club is that we should also consider players who might not be a house hold name, but is quite capable of doing the job. I get a snobbish vibes from alot of you with regard to some players of interest to our club. Man Utd just about to sign Igahlo, on 6 month loan. I am sure most would be turning up your collective noses had it been us trying to sign him on loan

That makes financial sense. We’ve bought “quality” before and it’s burned us. Can see loans with options to buy as a prudent way forward for many premiership clubs. A £25 million punt is an huge gamble ... see GLC as example - he’s only made good of late. Many don’t make the grade. Car equivalent of php.

This financials talk is Effed Up. Do we really have to wait 25/30 years to pay the stadium off before we can loosen the purse strings and be competitive?

I'll be dead!

We pay premium prices for inferior product.

If True the fans have been lied to as Levy said Stadium cost will not affect the transfer budget which it clearly has. Without sustained success of winning things like Chelsea and Arsenal did you cannot demand astronomical fees for naming rights... If you look at the number of Social Media followers we have it shows we have a long way to get match the other top 6 clubs. Why are Levy and Lewis not seeking investors if they don`t have the cash to push us forward.

I don’t disagree with that. I just accept reality. Our chairman will never change. It is like realising the dream wife you married is actually a bitch and you
want out. You get a divorce, and go again. We just can’t divorce our chairman, as it means divorcing our club. Btw, happily married for 31 years

It’s nothing like that?

Spot on Rob.

It's just flat out boring and predictable the way we continue to neglect major problem areas, flapping about, rinse and repeat...yawn.

No not really, that is not the only converse. Nobody has said that he doesn’t want the club to be successful. Far from it. But just like managers are sacked by him time and time again for not being able to take the team to another level you can say the same about him.

I have no idea how this is a response to my post. But I love you and all that you stand for.

Not signing Benteke and seeing Bowen asking for a relegation clause at the Spammers is mild humour and consolation for a window that’s seen us sign some serious talent for the future but also lose the Great Dane.

Just so I don’t have to read through 20 pages of betting odds, have we any irons left in the fire or are we closed for business now?

Fire up porn hub and enjoy the rest of your evening. We are done.

Why is it difficult to slag off ‘No striker?!’ The ones offered (aside from Giroud) of late were not do-able in the end. The possible ones like Benteke Mourinho (JM) didn’t fancy. Had we signed Benteke with JM blessings, we would be going off on one. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

And again, up until last night a lot of us thought Giroud was good as done. It wasn’t chavs that stopped it, but Frank. Pissing about with a player’s career like that is not on.
Every single person knew on here what Chelsea were going to do, shit planning a month after Kane got injured we were relying on rivals to do us a favour, ridiculous
