Release clauses aren't legally binding in England - they are only recognised in Spain and Portugual in fact.

I am not sure this is correct. In Spain/Portugal each contract has to have a release clause in it by law, hence some outrageously high ones for the top players. In this country that is not so, but if a player does have one inserted, and both parties sign off on it, then surely it is binding?

yeah thrusting other people... they always let you down

On another note, just saw that Dario Cvitanich returned to Ajax after his loan spell in Mexico, where he scored 10 goals in smth like 20 games. Dont know if the loan ended or Ajax recalled him, if they recalled him it surely would mean Suarez is closer to leaving?

They seem to have Gudjohnsen lined up as their proper replacement for Suarez.

According to Guillem Balague, Fernando Torres has asked Liverpool to hear what Chelsea have to say.....

Interesting....

We should go for it just to spice things up!

Sky reporting that Ivan Rakitic is about to sign for Sevilla...Fab's replacement?

Not unless they plan to replace him with a midfielder i'm afraid.

How can Ivan Rakitic, a midfielder (this season even mainly defensive oriented) be regarded as a replacement for Fabiano?

Rakitic is a midfielder not a forward.

Thats what I was going to say, isn't a replacement at all!

Apologies for the misleading info on Rakatic...i thought that i read he was an attacker...this transfer window is starting to take its toll on me!

I'm not sure this Rakatic is a forward you know :snooty:

yeah thrusting other people... they always let you down  quote]

If you're just trying to thrust randoms, then granted they probably will let/turn you down (snigger!).

Actually, I think it is.

'ooo, please tell us more adie' and 'we love you adie' and 'we bow down to you and your devine info adie' and so on, and so on etc.

Yeah the fawning was probably over the top but then again i'm guessing the snideyness was too. Either way, can we give it a rest now?

When Pav goes. Don't expect an immediate replacement on the day he's sold. My source tells me that he will be gone before Monday. His replacement will be signed on the 31st.
Between now and the last day of the transfer window we will be bringing in a defender (GAV).
There will be out goings as you are probably well aware by now some on loan (O'hara, Woodgate, Sandro) some will be sold (Keane, Palacios, Kranjcar.)

Don't Worry chaps things are running smoothly. We will have replacements.

Whenever I've seen Ratikic (Which I'll admit is not often; when England have played Croatia), he's come on and gone up-front as a second forward. I checked his wikpedia page and it seems he is a midfielder, but:"While playing at international level, Rakitić has also been referred to as a striker as used a few times in a more forward position by current coach Slaven Bilić. However, his midfield ability is also used to great effect combined with Croatia's touch and move football which sees many passing along the pitch and also gives him the ability to make many runs on the left flank to create attacks.[16] He has shown a great knowledge of offense in many games, and his delivery and unexpected shot accuracy are also among his strengths."So it seems he can play as a striker.
