They are under contract
They are our rivals
They can f off

People still forget we have Levy, if we were considering bids, which I presume we are not. The costs will be astronomical.

Alli would be over 100m
Rose and Walker would be pushing 60m.

To a rival? Add 30m per player. Infact if City are serious, I believe Levy would ask them to pay for the stadium.

The only way Pep gets to coach those 3 is if he comes to be Poch's number 2

Its cool to have everyone talking about us...This last weekend was the match that finally sent everyone into Spurs super hype..and I mean practically everyone .

I preferred being under the radar . There may be downsides for the players to be lauded as gods . Not sure it helps them mentally , especially when playing 'smaller ' teams .

And , as pessimists have been pointing out , we have players who now could command twice , even thrice their current wages ....and having 'you're the best ' rammed down their throats everywhere they go ...not sure its helpful to their concentration .

Loved the comments on the last few pages, It's hard for some to give praise to this Spurs team, so respect to the fans that have been nice to us and the way were playing at the moment.

One thing I am baffled about though is how the pundits can all say Conte is the best in the league over Poch. Neville was nice enough to say he loves Spurs and were his favourite team to watch at the moment, but the rest are all pro Conte, surely they must see just how much of a better job Poch has done ?

Totally agree, especially when you factor in that Chelsea have a wage bill approximately double ours and they have not had any European football this season.

It appears Gary Neville agrees as well FWIW

I like the fact that however they say it, nearly everyone regardless of who they support now recognises that Spurs are a genuinely very good team indeed.

That might not sound like much, but it's taken a few decades to get there.

The following is a whatsapp exchange between myself and a Chelsea fan. He started the messages as Chelsea scored 3rd at Bournemouth. Dubbed out the last message as he reverted to racism.

They really are a despicable bunch. I know 3 young Chelsea fans who are too young to remember when Chelsea were shit.

An excuse for a football club.

I think this is why in part Alli and Dier started the season a little off. I think they missed the summer rest but also they felt a little over inflated having become important England players. I then think they got a bit of a reality check and got their heads down again and have both picked up and moved on in their performances. hopefully this round of praise doesn't affect them as much and they have learned. I also think Alli in particular is determined to be a player for the history books and will work very hard for the majority of his career, he has that almost ugly self determination that the likes of Lampard, Terry, Gerrard et al. have had over the years. I just hope we can convince him to stay with us for as long as possible - only way to do that is to start winning medals.

After reading through about 5 pages of the Dele Alli thread on RedCafe, I found out that this was the general gist of it...

M.U. Fan: Pogba is better than Alli

Spurs Fans: But Alli has scored and assisted much more than Pogba this season.

M.U. Fan: Yeah but Pogba has a higher ceiling, he's only 23 and is already world class.

Spurs Fans: But Alli is 20 and has 16 goals and 6 assists already this season...

M.U. Fan: Yeah but Alli plays for Spurs. Shit team without a Man Utd like pedigree so there's less pressure on him than Man Utd

Spurs fans: But there'd be more pressure on a team challenging for the title...

M.U. Fan: But Tottenham's a shit team that haven't won any trophies. Look at Pogba's career, so much more successful than Alli

Spurs fans: But Alli is younger and plays for a "shit club", not Juventus who win the league every year so what do you expect.

M.U. Fan: He has to come to a first tier club like the glorious Manchester United and feel the pressure before he can be truely world class.

Spurs fans: But Pogba went to the "pedigree 1st tier Utd" and has been quite poor so how is he world class then?

M.U. Fan: But Dele Alli and Pogba play different positions. Dele Alli is actually a second striker and Pogba is defensive midfielder. ( This reply is my favourite :ROFLMAO: )

Spurs fans: So why are you comparing them in the first place?

M.U. Fan: ... Dele Alli's a diving cnut. Pogba's better.

Rinse and repeat with a couple of "You Spurs fans are so deluded" and "Dele Alli will be off to Real Madrid in a year" thrown in and that's the Dele Alli thread on RedCafe for you. (y)

Edit: Also there's the Alli/Martial or Alli/Lingard comparisons which are the same... just worse... much much worse... :(

I agree. But I think Poch will know how to handle them and keep them grounded.

Is there an 'Alli/De Gea comparison? Now that would be worth monitoring!

I think a lot of our rivals hate us, or are jealous because of how we've got where we've got. It grates on them that they can't throw the old chestnut 'you bought success'. We basically got where we are the way they wanted their clubs to. Even if they won't admit it. So they would love us to fail. It really doesn't bother me when they say stuff like 'you're a small team, x player will be off to a proper team soon' etc etc. Of course they'll say that, they are our rivals, we'd probably say the same thing. The better we become, the louder the cries of 'how we're not a big club' gets.

Trippier is an incredible option to have, but in my opinion Walker is one of the best right backs in the world right now.

I know he gets heavy criticism from some quarters, but he's improved in almost every area. Trippier is much better at crossing, but Walker is better in almost every other area, and has actually improved with his crossing.

Walker would be better at crossing if he hit it first time but he always wants that extra touch. Drives everyone mad!

The last time I looked he was managing a team who are surely to win the league in his first attempt, so how can you be baffled? Its justified and anyway I prefer the lime light be kept off Poch. Its the reality, move on

They forget before Fergie their club had the same number of titles as Aston Villa, two less than Everton and one more than Sunderland. Oh and 13 less than their arch rivals...

Fergie created a dynasty which has seen them treble in size. I'm not saying Poch will do that....the days of dynasties are over IMO but we're on the ascending curve just like Fergie was in 92.
