Its interesting how even other supporters can acknowledge that we're a different team to what we served up last year
Even watching yesterday anyone with a pair of eyes could see the difference is night and day. Brentford second half were what we were under Conte.

The commentator (Drury??) Said at the time Spurs didn't take a concussion sub because it would mean that Brentford would get an extra sub as well

Peter Drury must have been taking out of his arse as media say different -

I can only say I heard him say what I said in the earlier post.

Our commentator was Bill Leslie. Drury did Chelsea v Liverpool.

Leslie definitely said that during comms though I remember it too.

Whoever the commentator was, he would not have known that at the time because it was early in the game.
I'm thinking he said something along the lines, that "Brentford have used all their subs, and can't use a 6th because Spurs didnt declare Romero as a COncussion sub. "

Arsenal Mania
  • That Sp**s team look like they've rotated for FC Antwerp away.
  • Not long ago people on this forum were saying Maddison is better than Ødegaard and were creaming for Kulusevski, Richarlison, Son, and Brighton Bissouma and now they're acting like they're suddenly crap
  • hate me for saying it but Sp**s front four plus ange pro ball way of thinking could be cooking up some shrimps on the baaaaaaarbie
  • What better than a bit of I'm a hipster ball on a Sunday afternoon?
  • Talking of slobs, could you imagine Ange as Arsenal manager?
I couldn't tolerate someone who looks / dresses like him as manager.
  • Sp**s team is not that bad tbh. Depends on how the new keeper and CB fit in but think they'll play with less pressure and unshackled without Kane
  • This new Sp**s CB runs like the hunch back of Notre Damn.
  • Harry Kane, he left cos you’re ****
😂 can’t wait to hear that all season
  • Unpopular opinion but I think Richarlison will thrive as the main man. Son, Maddison and Kuluveski supporting it's not like he'll be on his own, pleny of creativity
  • Romero the bumm scores
  • Ange's style of football tops everything. This game could stop now and it's been more entertaining than our game yesterday.
Ange has transformed Sp**s from Conte ball to this. Amazing. But **** Sp**s.
  • Ange's style of football 🔥
  • Ange already play more respectable football than conte. Good pressing
  • Guaranteed quality with James Maddison
  • I do love Ange. Sp**s ****
  • everyone writing Sp**s off after Kane left, prematurely in my opinion
  • Sp**s kit is nice ffs
  • This Sp**s keeper has a very punchable face. Little mouse looking freak
  • Sp**s keeper looks like he was bullied as a kid
  • We’re not even competing against them this season and yet I’m still celebrating ffs
  • Can genuinely see United scoring 5 past these lot next week.
  • Ange might be a good manager but he clearly doesn’t have the players, Maddison aside
  • This new CB for Sp**s is a pound land Vertonghen.
    Runs like he’s **** himself.
  • Sours new keeper looks a clown.
Not buying this Ange stuff either. Can probably get away with this blood and thunder end to end stuff if you're managing the Auckland Kangaroo's or whatever. Got to have more tactical nous in the PL.
  • Can see Sp**s getting a proper hiding here...
  • Rashford will score a hattrick next week if they play this side.
Their midfield and attack offer nothing defensively
  • Sp**s left side is a mess at the moment Son keeps coming infield Udogie is inverting too and not there whenever Son decides to go infield, I think it's on Son tho more than Udogie or they're just not in sync
  • My brother a Sp**s fan says they have the worst defense he has seen from 40 years of watching Sp**s l. Everyone is going to score against them
  • Bissouma is awful guy got no ability
  • Sp**s look great. Not an easy place to lay either. Think they are severely underrated this season
  • First time i watch Sp**s under ange they look fun going but the midfield and defence kinda shocking they'll concede 50+ goals again
  • How’s everyone an “ange” expert here suddenly knowing what his side should look like and how they play? You guys been watching the Melbourne Wombats all these years or something?
  • Can see bissouma and Maddison career going upwards fromh here, hopefully they leave next yr
  • Sp**s fans must be very happy with this
  • Bissouma looks class today
Some proper virgins commenting here!

I wondered how the news travelled to him so quickly tbh

I genuinely felt the ref had a shocker so how was he our 12th man?
Because fans, us included, will be hyper sensitive to decisions that don’t go our way, but completely blind to decisions that do go our way.

I get that but I felt like he was poor for both sides overall in this case.

I'm re-watching the whole match now. I like to review the games without the stress as you can see things you miss in the heat of the moment. He said it, but not in the context that it was a deliberate ploy on our part, he was just stating the fact that because we had not used a concussion sub, Brentford would not then get an extra sub.

They never learn to keep their powder dry, but then that’s why it’s so funny when the wheels fall off.
They were so shite for many years, and yet it’s been somehow been co-opted as the process. I don’t care what anyone says, Arteta’s been an accident that came from no fans being on his back during 20/21. Nothing to do with faith or wisdom: it was COVID that kept him in a job.

Even opposition fans are calling it “Ange's style of football”

I always need to tell my friends and especially my Dad this. The stuff they say about the referee, fucking hell. They are just trying to do their job.

Fluking an FA cup helped too.

And then people wonder why the quality of refs isn't great. Who would want to take that job when you get gigantic abuse, even at grassroots level? And can't so much as dream of respect or riches even if you reach the very top. The lack of officials is becoming a huge problem further down the pyramid and the culture around acceptable conduct towards them really needs to change.

The pay for referees is relatively poor as well, the big names get a decent salary, but the others don't get nearly as much as they deserve. With a sport like football that is flush with cash, not sure why we can't pay the good ones a good salary.

Yep, it ridiculous. Such a quick and cheap fix, and it'd only be fair to them.
