Davies is a better defender but rose offers so much more going forward and suits our system as full-backs need to have pace and attack.
Good to have both options but we invite more pressure when we play Davies IMO.

Rose! Can screw up sometimes, but so can Davies. Better with Poch's pressing and attack. Can also get crazy goals like that Chelsea one!

Everyone expected Davies to immediately replace Danny Rose but Rose has stepped up this season and while he has made mistakes has deserved to be first choice. The problem for Davies has been that he hasn't had the opportunity of a settled run in the team so we haven't seen him at his best.

We look a much better team when Rose plays. At this moment in time Rose is by far the best English left back on current form. He will not make the England squad because Roy Hodgson is as much a progressive thinker as Harry Redknapp and will opt for Luke Shaw as back up to the fast fading Baines because he cost Man U £27m. The addition of Davis to the squad has simply made Rose a better player . Funny thing is last season I thought Rose was pants and I couldn't work out how he became Sunderland's player of the season, I know now. I know a few of you will disagree but thats how I see it. I thought Davies would be but Rose has really come on and needs to continue to be developed.

Rose has always been a talented player but moulded into left back later in career and just needs to continue learning and polishing off in that position.
