No he's kept in a job because he says controversial shit like this that fans can't wait to retweet and or reply to. He's a big hit on soccer Saturday because he is constantly arguing with other pundits because of his OTT bias opinions.

He's the Piers Morgan of punditry and he'll keep his job as long as people continue to react to the waffle he keeps on spouting.
Now what do those people have in common?

Oh yeah, they're both arsenal.

And ****s.

JJ and Hoddle both on Talksport today and criticizing Ange's tactics out of the blue. Smells of a new agenda being established in the media. Safe to say the honeymoon period is over, but for it to come from those two is even more disappointing. Easy to pile on when we have half the first team out.

Fuck 'em

To dare is to do not to dare is to compromise due to years of neglect and mismanagement by the high ups before your arrival

Typical strategy from the media - put a guy on a pedestal until he makes a mistake and then pound him into the ground. They are all baying for blood now. I'm disappointed in Glenn but JJ is a Forest fan and isn't a real Spurs man anyway.

People are looking at Ange and asking why not be pragmatic. They are looking at this and saying he should have played deeper - because what they would have been happy with is different to what Ange would. Ange was not trying to hold out and save face or damage limitation. He was trying to win.

When you compromise your principles under severe circumstances it says to me that your principles are not made for severe circumstances and you're not entirely convinced of your own system. Ange believes in his approach. He believes it works in all circumstances. Playing a higher line and applying pressure on Chelsea was attempting to craft opportunities for us to get the win (and it almost worked). These pundits simply don't understand because they would have tried to save face at 2-1 down

Can you imagine the furore and the media adulation he'd be getting if we actually got a point or more out of that game.

All the pundits would be saying "Ange has flipped the script on its head and all teams should be playing a high line even when down to 10 or 9 players". "He's revolutionising football as we know it".

pundits are populist by their nature

Pundits are just thick. Unsurprisingly, most are ex-footballers, and footballers aren't known to be the smartest bunch.

Hoddle and especially Jenas not fit to lace Ange's boots as a Manager.

I'm waiting for Ange's intelligent reply if asked about these pundits comments. He's gonna take no shit like when he was at Celtic, telling the journalists how he knew many think his appointment was a joke.

I don't disagree with either.

No one is saying stick 11 men behind the ball and completely abandon his principles. There are numerous levels of in-between "gung ho" and "park the fucking bus".

Bit harsh on Glenn …..better manager than perhaps given credit for…..considering the dross he had to work with, and I include England in that…
Yea fair he was half decent to be fair especially for England and as you say at Spurs, Swindon and Chelsea he had mostly dross or old players but I made the comment because he was a terrible man manager and many many former players have said as much unfortunately , overall Ange is levels above what Hoddle was as a Manager imo.

Agreed man management wasn’t his strongpoint…..didn’t help that he could do more on one leg than most of his players could do on two..even when he was twice their age…

I remember a journalist on VFL said that this would happen. We would lose a few games and his approach and tactics would be criticised.

Klopp came under fire for repeatedly being sucker punched in games and the media banged on about how Peps tactics don’t work here in the PL during his first season in England.

There are both macro and micro elements to management IMO. The macro being the principles your team employs week in week out and the micro being the tactical tweaks made game to game.

Ange has repeatedly talked about getting his principles across and that to me is the clear priority at this early stage of his tenure. He could have tweaked a few things against Wolves and Chelsea but it’s fine margins. We were 6 mins away from taking (an admittedly undeserved) 3 points from a tricky away game at Wolves and had chances to get an unlikely point at home to Chelsea.

Agree re principles but that went out the window when he started Hojbjerg in Maddison's place against Wolves. As good as he was and deserved great credit for first 10 games, last two were not great imo.
