Typical strategy from the media - put a guy on a pedestal until he makes a mistake and then pound him into the ground. They are all baying for blood now. I'm disappointed in Glenn but JJ is a Forest fan and isn't a real Spurs man anyway.

People are looking at Ange and asking why not be pragmatic. They are looking at this and saying he should have played deeper - because what they would have been happy with is different to what Ange would. Ange was not trying to hold out and save face or damage limitation. He was trying to win.

When you compromise your principles under severe circumstances it says to me that your principles are not made for severe circumstances and you're not entirely convinced of your own system. Ange believes in his approach. He believes it works in all circumstances. Playing a higher line and applying pressure on Chelsea was attempting to craft opportunities for us to get the win (and it almost worked). These pundits simply don't understand because they would have tried to save face at 2-1 down

Pundits are just thick. Unsurprisingly, most are ex-footballers, and footballers aren't known to be the smartest bunch.

I don't disagree with either.

No one is saying stick 11 men behind the ball and completely abandon his principles. There are numerous levels of in-between "gung ho" and "park the fucking bus".

Yea fair he was half decent to be fair especially for England and as you say at Spurs, Swindon and Chelsea he had mostly dross or old players but I made the comment because he was a terrible man manager and many many former players have said as much unfortunately , overall Ange is levels above what Hoddle was as a Manager imo.

Yea fair he was half decent to be fair especially for England and as you say at Spurs, Swindon and Chelsea he had mostly dross or old players but I made the comment because he was a terrible man manager and many many former players have said as much unfortunately , overall Ange is levels above what Hoddle was as a Manager imo.

Agreed man management wasn’t his strongpoint…..didn’t help that he could do more on one leg than most of his players could do on two..even when he was twice their age…

There are both macro and micro elements to management IMO. The macro being the principles your team employs week in week out and the micro being the tactical tweaks made game to game.

Ange has repeatedly talked about getting his principles across and that to me is the clear priority at this early stage of his tenure. He could have tweaked a few things against Wolves and Chelsea but it’s fine margins. We were 6 mins away from taking (an admittedly undeserved) 3 points from a tricky away game at Wolves and had chances to get an unlikely point at home to Chelsea.

Agree re principles but that went out the window when he started Hojbjerg in Maddison's place against Wolves. As good as he was and deserved great credit for first 10 games, last two were not great imo.
