Don't do it to yourself, get a suitable striker (Polish No.9 :cautious: ) and everything will start to become more fluid.
You are, of course, quite correct. I think I'm already trying to tell myself that our comical attempts at signing a striker this summer isn't all that crushing a blow. I'll be well prepared by the time the window opens.

Can't argue with that half. Lots of chances created, a couple of goals. Bossed the midfield.

Even a scare from Inter just to keep us focused. A clean sheet is pretty crucial, and if we could convert one more chance we'd be pretty comfortable going to Milan.

Good half.
Parker fucking class. Back to his best?
Dembele excellent.
Sig very good.
Defoe looks sharp and will score soon enough.
Walker & Lennon also impressive.
Best passing i've seen since AVB took over.

Siggi has had a great half, looks very comfortable playing there

Not his natural position but is doing well thanks to Bale's roaming. We no longer play with a rigid left/right wingers + attacking mid, it's a lot more fluid which is great against tight marking defenders.

Good performance. The last five minutes proved how dangerous easing off whilst having a 2-0 lead can be. We need another early second half to put their heads down

So far so good but we mustn't allow them to score at all!!!
I am happy with ALL of the players.

So much to be positive over but I don't want us getting over confident and pulling out the deck chairs because we haven't even won the first leg, yet alone the tie so we need to keep this up and try and put this tie to bed as ruthlessly as possible.

Thought Siggy was best player on the pitch that half, an assist and a goal plus a lot of hassling and winning the ball back.

Yep. Lots of positives. I'll not sit here and say this is a vintage Inter team but they're not this bad. Our tempo has been great. Need to keep it up and keep our concentration. I'm already salivating at the thought of Holtby coming on against tired legs.

Dembele has been superb, he's truly great when he breaks forward - we need more of this Mous!!!!

Fed up of Bale being booked for diving and branded a diver. He has actually dive about twice, one of which vs Pool away was justified given Skrtel spent the game trying to break his legs. Today was debatable but ultimately not much a dive, anybody remember Bent at Sunderland in 09/10 season doing same thing leaving a leg in, so many players do it.

It's a mentality thing, passing it around with purpose, more killer balls forward, always a man mopping up, some of our lot have seriously stepped up in attitude recently..
