I didn't think the Juve presidents quotes were that definitive in their chances of getting Rossi. Just remember that Levy is never gonna come out and tell us how confident he is on the deal. All we have to go by is small bits of ITK info.

this

i dont see those quotes as being anything major...

the fact he says "JUVENTUS WONT BE DRAWN INTO A BIDDING WAR" says to me that he knows they have serious competition..

wether its us is another matter

Rafa and Ibra hate each other. Can't see it happening anyway.

He has also said he doesn't want to live in England. Because of the weather... :)
On huge wages, and constantly talking about how his biggest dream is to win the CL. Not a chance.

On the optimistic side of all of the striker targets we have and with all the competition we apparently have, none of them has been sold yet.
Without getting involved with the Ibrahimovic discussion I have a bit of ITK: He is a moody fucker.
Best to forget him then.

For me the only definite ITK points towards Leandro, either simply or cryptically it all points his way. I'm sure lines of communication were opened up with the clubs of Rossi and Llorente during the January debacle but I doubt either will come because we are not in the level of competition either player desires/deserves. I suspect that we asked to be "kept informed" of the players situations but nothing more and it's this stream of information that is keeping the ITKs fed.

My guess is that we have the money to pay for Damiao and will buy him regardless. If we've managed to sell enough deadwood to buy a significant player/striker by the window close then we will. If not we'll be as we were with the addition of Leandro and Pedroza (probably). In order to raise the 25-30m neccessary to fund such a player we have to sell a lot of shit and I doubt even Howard Marks could manage that.

Indeed he is. He refused to play for Sweden if he wasn't made captain, for example.

As a swedish player I rate him, but I can't see him playing for Spurs. We're not good enough for him (in his mind, he loves himself a league winning team and CL-competitors).

Absolutely zero chance of ibra! Wages would be massive and bigger fish than us are sure to be in for him.

Re: Juve and Rossi, those italian presidents are always spouting off about transfers and rarely do they come to fruition, I'm not too worried about that in all honesty.

Not while Harold is in charge I'm afraid, besides we don't have a DOF to find these nuggets anymore.....

That's the thing - CL clubs frequently replace players with other good players, but with Redknapp's current form in the transfer market, all I can see is triffic Joe Cole

I challenge anyone to convince me that we could possibly sign ibra. Give it your best shot!! If we sign vucinic I will be happy. I don't remember berba being a big name when we signed him. Coupled with damiao and maybe the couabilly bloke that would make a fantastic window. We still have a great team with great players and I can't wait for next season.

How about a straight deal swap between Modric and Tevez. They both want to leave and would cost approx the same. Just an idea.
On the Ibra idea, please no, overrated, bigheaded, would want to leave by Christmas, no thanks.
