@mrpink totally agree in regards to MS and poch. We have played well granted but I also feel MS would give us that bit more of an edge and push j due to his previous with mopo. Would love him but I would dislike signing Welbeck or Remy Not my cup of tea and I would say bye bye AT against limassol he was horrendous....

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Really?
Notwithstanding what we saw today?

By that, I mean certain players re-finding their form, being given a second chance and an injection of faith.

Sometimes I think we just want change for change's sake.

Also Remy was dog shit today.

Is there any chance we sign TWO argentinian CBs?? We surely can't sign both Fazio and Musacchio. Or..does that mean Dawson + Kaboul eg. is off?
It means Levy had a brain freeze after the ice bucket challenge, and has opened up Joe's vault...

(Hard to imagine bringing in both, perhaps villarreal got wind of the RyanAir photo of Fazio)

If they're both now available, I think Poch definitely green lights Musacchio (as he was first option in my reading of Trix's ITK on the Levy-Baldini-Poch masterplan), and he probably green lights Fazio too (which would mean Vlad would go).

I read Fazio as being in the second tier of CB targets if we couldn't get Musacchio or Lovren, and Trix says Levy bid more than expected for those targets.

Not too fussed on MS, Capoue and Bentaleb seem to have really gelled, nice addition but wont shed any tears if we dont get him

Get in a decent CB should be the overwhelming priority

Agreed about CB, but while Bentaleb has looked quality against Ham and QPR (especially with those balls over the top), I think we would see a large gap in quality with MS instead when playing top 6 sides.

He has a Capoue level of tackling, a Lamela workrate, and Eriksen's Barcelonaesque 1-2 out of trouble passing aka incredibly versatile and perfect to sit back next to Capoue or Dembele. Not to mention would make for a great French-speaking mentorship with Bentaleb.

I think there have been developments today. Fazio is lined up and that was our new CB but apparently Kaboul poured a bucket of ice water over DL after the game and he's been sold to the Ukraine. As a result we have upped our bid for Musacchio and he will be replacing Kaboul
;)

If we shift out Dawson, Kaboul and Chiriches and bring in Musacchio and Fazio....

Or CBs would be: Vertonghen, Musacchio, Fazio, Dier

Bloody Hell. That is one hell of a line up!!!

(Musacchio and Fazio. If you say that loud and rapid 400 times it starts to sound funny)

Vertonghen, Musacchio, Fazio, Dier is better than Vertonghen, Kaboul, Chiriches, Dier?

Prove it.

Today's performance by Lamela, Chadli, and Vertonghen should make people think twice before they write off Paulinho. Paulinho still provided 6 goals and 2 assists in league play last season, and we've seen he's an absolute class player on top form. Yes, he's not at his best currently and may not be a perfect fit for Poch's system, but let's not judge him based on last Thursday, as Vertonghen was equally as poor and looked sensational today.
