At his peak, he was great. Always ran around and gave his all for the team. Thanks for being one of us. Wish him all the best in the future.

The set up for Lennon's goal against Chelsea.

The goal against Chelsea in the 4-4.

That goal against Blackburn.

The celebration in the last NLD at the Library.

His face when we won the Carling Cup.

There are many many more that I could put on here but if anyone thinks that Keano is leaving the club as anything other than a legend then they are, quite frankly, wrong.

Good luck in the States Keano. Don't become a scientologist. Do score lots of goals.

There's only one Keano!

Same about of goals per games as Sheringham, it's a really great shame that he isn't given the same respect.

Good luck in the US. KEANO KEANO

I feel a bit like a guy who stands up at a funeral during the eulogy and loudly points out that the sentiment is a bit over the top, but...

The sentiment in this thread is a bit over the top...

He'd have been a fine servant to the club if he hadn't jumped ship the moment Liverpool fluttered their eye-lashes in his direction.

Have some of you no pride? It's as if your wife ran off with the handsome scouser down the road, but when he dumped her and she came crawling back you just gave her a big hug and said never-mind dear.

Don't get me wrong I can appreciate a decent professional relationship, Keane wanted to play for Liverpool fair enough, we bought him back because we thought he could still do a job, fair enough, but this thread is about more than that, people are expressing affection for the guy over and above that professional relationship and as far as I'm concerned he's totally unworthy of it.

The guy jilted us, that's how much we meant to him, good, we know it, but this appreciation bollocks is frankly a bit embarrassing. Imo.

Ok carry on...

In the words of the great Smokey Robinson, I second that emotion.

Just to add that I wasn't bitter the first time he left, I thought it was fucking great business and thanked him for his services and wished him well, but he'd been declining way before that move and I was tickled pink that we'd planted him at Liverpool for the tune of 20m.

In the two years he's been back he's contributed even less than the two before he went, and I'm pissed that we wasted 12/15m buying him back that could have been better spent on proper catering produce in the Park Lane Upper.

I was more gutted about keano going than I was about berbs. He was a big part of what dragged us out of obscurity again. Thanks for all those wonderful memories and this is a more fitting way for you to leave our club. Good luck

Seems quite bizarre why you two would come into a "Robbie Keane Appreciation Thread" then.....

He was one of few highlights when we really sucked in the mid 00's, scored some awesome goals. The one against Blackburn where he dinked it over 2/3 players stands out for me.

I less than three you, Robbie Keane.

I'm massively grateful to SC for helping me meet and present my favourite Spurs player with the player of the season award back in 2008.

Robbie Keane saw the bad times at Spurs, and ushered us into a Champions-League-expecting age. He's been a tremendous nightwatchman, and I'm glad the pastures new are (hopefully) far enough away for them not to punish us.

It hurt me to see him playing in West Ham colours; but sending them down made up for that.

He scored over 100 goals for our club, and some of the disdain from others is undeserved, idiotic and missing the point.

Is it fitting that his last competitive goal for us was against Arsenal? I think so.

Truly a Spurs Legend. Whatever you think of "The Green Judas" or the "Point Flappy Arms Man", he is a Spurs Legend. The term is banded around a lot, but one of the few that deserves it.

I'll never forget him running with tears in his eyes towards Berbatov to hug him after winning the CC. His goals are forever etched in my memory, and truly departs as my favourite player.

Keano. There's only one Keano.

Keano, frustrating at times, when he would come too deep, when he tried to think too much, if a ball was fizzed into him from distance, it invariably popped up off his shin to head height, he couldn't score 1 on 1's for toffee, but he scored goals.

He is often wrongly thought of as a deeper forward, I think he just used to come deep due his his love of the game, and wanting to be involved in the action.

His best years were playing off the shoulder with Berbatov, where he showed his real skills. Instictive fox in the box.

118 goals

231 starts

Enough to be called, A Spurs LEGEND.

You mean the two years where he scored over 20 goals - you know, the thing we're begging out for a striker to do now - and was part of one of the best partnerships in Europe?

I do have to wonder if before he left for Liverpool Keano ran round WHL collecting certain supporter's balls as some kind of memento of his time at Spurs.

It's honestly the only reason I can see for grown men equating a top footballer who gave us many excellent years service, 100+ goals and some of the best moments of Spurs' recent history with being a jilted lover. You lot should pop down to WHL quick before he disappears off to LA with your nuts.

Excellent servant, passionate player, 100+ goals, real quality on the ball and seemingly a top bloke. Spurs legend 100%.
