I think many of the player assessments offered in this thread are incredibly fatalistic. No doubt this is in no small part down to the incredibly poor run of form of late - there's no denying that and there are many legitimate worries about the squad, the coaching and on-field aspects in general.
However, some of what has been written about several players is, for me at least, greatly exaggerated and, again, fatalistic. We have a number of very good players who could benefit the first eleven of many, many clubs the world over and some thoroughly decent squad players too.
Yes, something needs to change to get everybody performing as we all know they can, or even better than they have before, and I'll definitely concede that with some it would probably be best for the team and the player to move on. Throwing as much as half of the first team squad under the bus however, and I suspect it would be an even greater proportion for some posters, is not a realistic or reasonable option.
