Juve has been dominant in the league for 9 years in a row now. Napoli (ironically under Sarri) came very close and blew it. This season Juve were running away with it again and almost blew it. Throughout the season there were shakey moments as well, but world class players like Ronaldo and Dybala made the difference.
Sarri is a very flawed manager. He's old school, stuck in his ways, plays favourites and alienates players he doesn't like. He can take underdogs and push them by working them hard but he can't motivate and manage a top tier team. He is not a consistent winner. It was clear very early on that he wasn't the right fit for Juve. I don't think it's a reflection of the league, or bad on Juve's part at all. The holy grail for Juve is the Champions League. Should've won it more times than they have when you consider their stature and how Milan have won it more times. The fact that they have been so dominant in the league the last decade is why they've been shit in Europe. They need that domestic competition to give them a kick up the arse. I've always said that if Napoli would've pipped them to the title it would've made Juve stronger in the long run.
I do think that if Sarri won the CL but lost the league this season he wouldn't have been sacked.
Its a terrible reflection on Juventus and the league as a whole. You say he can't motivate and manage a top team, but he reached two finals with Chelsea, winning the Europa League. He wouldn't have won the league if he couldn't motivate the players. He's had to compromise his philosophy because of certain star players who can't be dropped. He might not have been the right fit for them, but that's on the people who hired him. And if you're right and he really can't motivate the team that's an even worse reflection on the league.
