Really think you are hugely over estimating the current squad. ' more than enough for top 4? ' Sorry, just don't see it at all.
From an attitude/mental strength point of view, I’d be inclined to agree with you, but on talent I don’t. There is enough talent there in around 75% of that 25 man squad. Not to say we couldn’t improve the squad, but the biggest issue for me is and always has been the attitude of the players and this goes right back to the last few months of Poch.

Either we’ve had the wrong managers, who haven’t been able to man manage the players appropriately, or the players as a collective will never be mentally up to the task. I guess we’ll find out over the next few months.

Slowly getting the feeling that we might appoint Conte.

You've got it easy.

I fuck off for a couple of hours so my carer can do what she has to do with me, and I return to discover 37 new pages.

Has it gone through? Has it collapsed? Has Levy had a stroke after realising the financial outlay he's facing?

*Cue Eastenders music*
His just teasing us and getting new toupee's ordered in for the club shop. Levy doesn't like to miss an opportunity like this ?

Would be Spursy to sign him for 18 months , be top of the league, contract runs out with a month or so to go and then we lost Conte and finish 5th

Don’t focus on 18 months! That can be extended, and terms already pre-agreed, from what I’m hearing.
I think a shorter contract is sensible, when considering how much we'll be paying him and both our, and his, tendency to implode/explode.
It seems to be the norm nowadays anyway.

What I don't see working is an 18 month contract. Just screams to me of Levy not committing to a revolution.

Personally I think an 18 month contract is probably sensible in this instance. Especially given the potentially highly combustible working relationship between Conte and Levy and the level of salary Conte and his coaching team will command.

If this was July it would have made sense to give him a 24 month contract. But anything beyond that I'm not sure. In fact I don't think Conte has ever managed a team for more than two seasons, with the exception of 3 seasons with Juventus in 2011-14.

Only with Spurs bias glasses on. Our squad is nowhere near the quality that Chelsea, Liverpool, Man U, Man C have.

Man U kept Sancho, Rashford, Greenwood, Lingard, Martial, Pogba, De Beek in reserve at the weekend.

By comparison we had Ndombele, Dele, Bergwijn (1 goal in 51 apps), Scarlet (17 years old) and Gil (injured)
Other than Romero and Royal, our best first 11 is the same as the first half of last season, which by the end of November was good enough for top spot in the league. What’s changed with the players in that time??
