First leg:

Cerny

Chimbonda - Woodgate - King - Gilberto/Lee

Lennon - Jenas - O'Hara - Malbranque

Keane - Berbatov

Then if we score a few,

Second leg:
Cerny

Gunter - Kaboul - Huddletone - Gilberto/Lee

KPB - Zokora - Tanio - Taarabt

Bent - Pekhart

Even though this lineup doesn't look so convincing, but it's a home game and there are some experience heads in every department. Furthermore, some of the lads have some points to prove and should hold on well.

totally agree with you. Play a strong team and get a good away result. then at the home leg rest/save loads of starting players for the CC final. We gotta organise and work hard up to the CC final, I think we can beat Chel$ki if we play well at Wembley.

I'd be worred if King and Woodgate don't get a start on Thursday. there is pleenty of time to rest King after the first (and arguabley) tyhe second leg befroe the CC tie. He's already missed 4 games on the bounce. I'm gonna predict that King starts on Thursday.. i also think it'll be Gilberto's bow and Chimbonda will be back to RB. I presumme the issue regarding Cerny on loan from Prague has been discussed and by the looks of everyones teams he's able to play. Huddlestone in the Middle with Jenas for me with Lennon and steed wide and the usual suspects up top.

I think Ramos will save King for the CC and so he may not feature in either UEFA cup leg.

Strongest possible in Prague. As others have said, if job done then 3-4 key players rested for Wembley.

Wish Bent had been better on Saturday. Now makes me worry that we can't fully rest either Berbs or Keane.

Another bonus is that we have three cup games to play all in a row, 2 legged UEFA Cup ties then the Carling Cup final, ok they will be intense matches but we have only these three games going on in this period with no PL distraction until after the CCup final.

We have always proclaimed to be a CUP side so there you go, COYS three wins......!

.....and we will be in Europe!

Taarabt will not start. He's too raw.

Out of interest, how in the hell do any of you think he's ready to play in a high profile European game?

I think we're underestimating our opponents here. Seems like most people are assuming we can grab a 2 goal lead or so in the away leg. I'm not saying its out of the question, but it's going to be tough. We had a good UEFA away record last year though, so hopefully it'll pick up.

Really sad that Hutton can't play for us in the Uefa Cup, I bet he is gutted too..

My Team

Cerny
Chimbonda Woody Kaboul Gilberto
Steed Hudd Zokora TT
Berba Keano

Kaboul should play after his solid performance against Derby.. Hudd is so much better in midfield than he is in central defence, were his lack of pace is often exposed. I remember Hudd playing very good away at Prague last year and I have faith in him to do a good you on Thursday aswell.

I think Zokora had a good tournament in Africa those matches i saw.. Think we should give him a start here, a good game to get him back in the team..

TT is so underrated IMO, and he can do a good defensive job to let Gilberto/Lee dominate the left side..

Jenas and Lennon should IMO be rested.. They have both had good spell of form for us and for England..

I predict a 2-0 win for us.. Keano will score at least one..

I would go for Berba/Keano upfront.

am i the only one concerned about just throwing king and woodgate straight into a final when they have never played together?

I know they are both top class players, but i just think they should play together at least once...

His team isn't too dissimilar to mine in strength. How is it worthy of the high and mightiness? We both qualified our statements with clarification that we'd only want this team provided we'd been comfortable in Prague.

Is it our strongest team? No. Is it a crap team? Certainly not.

At the end of the day, if you want to argue your corner, be my guess. But don't sit mocking the opinions of others when you've not put your own input in.

I have. For the first leg, anyway.

I thought the object of the exercise was to predict what Juande might play, rather than what we, as hugely expert managers, might play. And if anyone thinks Juande will give Taarabt a start (let alone at RM), or start Pekhart, then they need sectioning. It's also unlikely that Dawson will be available.

Unless we have something like a five-goal cushion Hughy's home line-up is, frankly, suicidal. The Arse fielded this line-up against them in Prague:

Almunia, Clichy, Gallas, Denilson, Diaby, Diarra, Gilberto, Song, Bendtner (Adebayor), Eduardo (Eboué), Walcott

and struggled. And yes, I am perfectly aware it was the away leg. They won the first 7-0. But that was, in theory, a strong enough side to put Slavia away. It didn't. Sevilla beat Slavia 3-0 in Prague and 4-2 at home. I don't know how strong a side they put out for the second (home) leg, but I'll take a flying guess that it was a good deal stronger than Hughy's line-up. And we didn't exactly breeze past them last year.

If others base their line-ups on FM or total stupidity, I'll take the piss as much as I please, ta very much. And I don't post my line-up? There's a simple reason for that. I have no pretension to being an EPL manager. Sorry about that.
